Shapiro was discovered shortly before being buried alive amid the dead-eyed figures with oversized heads.

Meemaw visiting Pop-Pop's grave and talks to him about her life with John Sturgis and Dale Ballard. Currently, I feel like I'm in a very fortunate position that I actually get to choose some of the work that I want to do, which is very rare, and I'm very humbled that I'm in this position. I like to at least go, at least now, I tend to gravitate towards characters that have a big obstacle in front of them and who have some kind of transformation. Whether that's redemptive, whether that's love, whether that's pain, whatever it is, I really like to chase characters that have a big sort of emotional arc. That's sort of where I'm heading.

I feel like the first two episodes we're just getting to know these characters, we're getting to know the circumstance of what's going to happen. Episode three... by the end of episode three, you're going to want to watch every single episode right away because something happens... and when that happens, you're hooked. Since The Big Bang Theory, your roles have been so incredibly different. This includes Criminal in 2020, Trolls and the upcoming Space Man. What makes you choose the roles that you do and what do you hope to do in the future? Pop-Pop had a failed attempt at taxidermy as a hobby. His only successful work was a stuffed raccoon that Meemaw sold at a garage sale (with help from Missy) in the Young Sheldon episode Carbon Dating and a Stuffed Raccoon. It's challenging because the elements are so unknown, right? And then also remember, we were shooting in a time where everyone on the street is wearing a mask, but in the show, that's not the circumstances. So there were a lot of challenges during that time, but I think that there was a real sense of achievement in that we pulled it off.

In Young Sheldon, he shares the same nerdy and arrogant personality like his grandson Sheldon Cooper. The storyline involves the Justice League of America from the contemporary period interacting with their successors, the Justice Legion Alpha, from the far future. Key characters include futuristic versions of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and other iconic heroes. The plot revolves around a grand, galaxy-spanning narrative where the heroes from both eras face off against a variety of threats, including an ancient evil from Superman's past. Kunal Nayyar is hardly recognisable from his days as Raj from The Big Bang Theory. After more than a decade playing the grasshopper-drinking astrophysicist, the past three years have seen him take on far more darker and twisted roles. Not much is known about his life or the specific conditions that led to his death, but according to Meemaw in " Mitch's Son and the Unconditional Approval of a Government Agency" he died of complications related to surgery to remove something from inside him about nine months before his death. According to her, he "went to the doctor, and they found something. Two days later he was in surgery, and nine months later he was dead". This incident that was seen by Meemaw as leading to his death made her weary of doctors for several years afterwards. Meemaw also said that Pop-Pop died for “financial reasons” in her first appearance implying they didn't try as hard as they could have to heal him. I was about to dump 4 tons of dirt on the latest batch, when I heard one of these dolls saying something about ‘indoctrination,’” explained bulldozer operator Michael Bao. “Something didn’t sit right, I didn’t think these were the types of toys that made noise, but I had never seen The Big Bang Theory , so I figured it had to do with that. I lifted him out and he just sort of scurried off.” Last year, he was nominated for a BAFTA for his portrayal of a mind-game playing killer in Netflix's Criminal. Soon, he'll be joining Carey Mulligan for drama Space Man, a science-fiction story based on the Jaroslav Kalfař novel, Spaceman of Bohemia.
