I can only do this review as a segmented piece, because to be honest, my inclination is to go on a massive rant on my feelings about the legal system, the two killers and just a long emotional wail on "how could anyone..." He proves that child murderers are not as unique as we believe by citing historical cases from Victorian times to present day, 1992. This was really an area I knew nothing about so was surprising. The actual abduction of James is chilling. It is very hard to read but the research and detail makes this book skip along at a fast pace. I am a great believer in the rights of all, but the day these two little horrors took James's life and did what they did to that young boy they gave up their right to be treated as humans, and the right to be treated as humans.
