Description

While the Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K Wireless arrives with some charge, you'll definitely want to charge it up fully before taking it out since it is only 5000mAh capacity. Anker provides a USB-C cable to charge it with, and the charging input is set at 11W. Since it's not a huge battery, it doesn't take too long to fully charge it — I just left it alone for about two to three hours, and it would be full from zero. There was never a moment that the PowerCore 5000 heated up, and we find that to be a very well built power bank. Reliability

Anker Power Bank, PowerCore 5000 mAh Portable Charger

The body of the power bank is plastic with a smooth finish. You would think that the power bank is quite slippery by just looking at it but that’s not the case. Anker is a name you’ll see across every category in this article, and with good reason. It offers solid products at reasonable prices and this little 5,000 mAh charger is no different. While it only offers a USB-C output port, it charges at 18W and has a built-in Qi charger for wirelessly charging compatible mobile devices. Mini power banks are the categories within the power bank charging space that is receiving the most attention. The PowerCore 5000 has the standard safety tech features that prevent the power bank from heating up and causing damage to itself and to the device you’re charging. Once it is on your iPhone 12, the magnetic hold is fairly strong and requires a bit of force to take off. However, as small as the power bank is, it’s still bigger than Anker’s premiere PowerCore+ Mini and other small power banks like the Tylt 3,200 power bank. More manuals of Portable Chargers Frequently Asked Questions about Anker PowerCore 5000 Portable Charger This kind of design should be standard with nearly every power bank because it makes a portable charger so minimalist with how you have to use it and makes the user more carefree and more concerned about using their charging device. The PowerCore 5000 is a Mini power bank that is opening new doors to the small-sized portable charger category. If you know about the PowerCore+Mini or if you’ve read our post about What’s the Best Capacity for a Power Bank, then you know that Mini power banks hold a lot of capabilities when it comes to power capacity and charging speed.

Anker PowerCore 5000 Review | Tested by GearLab

The Anker Power Core 5000 provides speedy charging using one Power IQ USB and Voltage boost technologies. The PowerCore builds upon what a power bank should have pertaining to its power. The Mini power bank brings a 5,000mAh capacity to the table. The PowerCore 5000 follows the same distinct design that other Mini power banks follow. The power bank has a cylindrical shape with a length of 4 inches and a width of 1 inch. Other than the bigger size, the power bank does an all around a great job with its design. The Input and Output ports are on a single side and are clearly labeled. One of the negatives of the Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K Wireless is the fact that wireless charging is limited at 5W output. This is a limitation that pretty much applies to all third-party accessories, though, so it can't be helped. Until Apple allows third-party accessory makers to get the fastest possible wireless charging, it's just something that we'll have to endure. But for what it's worth, even though 5W is a bit slow, it definitely tops off your device, and it's convenient since you don't need a cable. The weight of the PowerCore 5000 isn’t really a concern. Weighing in at about 5 ounces, it’s heavier than most Mini power bank but it isn’t so heavy that it’ll cause substantial damage if it’s dropped, and it won’t tire you out by simply holding it. The power bank is perfect for taking nearly anywhere and a power capacity that can be relied on for few charges for a smartphone. A charging speed that is nearly as fast as a wall charger.
