We’re going to play live again, so that’s always a really good way to guarantee that we’ll get the record done. Those transitions were created at least in part using computers, so to re-create them using purely analog technology meant going back to the original tapes and reconstructing them by hand using tape splices. The vocals are very soothing by Bilinda Butcher and Kevin Shields and are often a sharp contrast to the heavily distorted and experimental noise going on around their melodies.

It is a record best experienced as a whole, in one sitting – a listening experience like no other and unmatchable in its sonic brevity. CD1 - loveless (Remastered from original 1630 tape) in front pocket and CD2 - loveless (Half inch analogue tape) in rear pocket. Also a tiny tiny tiny bit warped but doesn't affect anything (pitch bending is literally one of the ingredients that made the album sound how it sounds so i don't think a badly warped copy would really affect it? So when you hear, it’s a bit like when the scientists talk about the nature of reality and how it’s like an illusion in our brain.Done by the man himself it is, as ever with MBV, difficult to work out where the myth ends and the truth begins. So as people who work with sound get older, they know their hearing isn’t as good, but at the same time, a lot of guys can still do really good work. Originally bought this some years after its release in the late 90s after seeing it pop up repeatedly in best of lists.

It’s easy for the record to go a little bit out of shape and start to sound a bit too nice, and I wound up with some really beautiful sounding versions. The band’s 1991 album Loveless took three years, more than a dozen engineers, and as many studios to make. But from the perspective of listening to it, I didn’t want that to be the only version that people had access to, because it just breaks it up. Still to this day I have no idea what they're singing about but I find it a uplifting listen and its certainly worthy of the praise bestowed upon it. my bloody valentine, the quartet of Bilinda Butcher, Kevin Shields, Deb Googe and Colm Ó Cíosóig, are widely revered as one of the most ground-breaking and influential groups of the past forty years.
