Description

As you might have guessed from the name, it's distilled in Bermondsey – which again plays into the history of gin, as a few big brands (which are still around today) began their story in Bermondsey too. As for classic gin cocktail recipes, I thought it made a beautiful martini – a small portion of dry vermouth stirred down with cubed ice and served in a frozen martini glass with sprayed lemon zest. The final part is the aftertaste, which has enough lingering on the mouthfeel and it dissipates at a perfect rate. It helps us understand the number of visitors, where the visitors are coming from, and the pages they navigate. Key to the recipe is the absence of contemporary botanicals and the focus is on a balanced, intricate botanical mix redistilled with neutral grain spirit.

Jensen's achieve this authenticity by not using any botanicals that would not have been found in the 18th Century. On the palate, the gin offers a long and smooth finish that highlights the flavour of juniper, making it an excellent choice for a classic Martini. Will not readily appeal to those who are attracted by fancy labels and fancy bottles, which seems ro be the majority of gin drinkers these days.London's Docklands has an illustrious gin distilling history, coupled with a less-than-illustrious reputation as a former slum district fuelled by the 18th century gin craze. The building is in an arch under the railway so lots of atmosphere and appreciated the blanket as it was cold inside. You will then be invited to join your guide at the tasting table, where you will dive into the history of gin and its origins, as well as the history of the distillery itself. Jensen’s Bermondsey Dry Gin is a classic London dry style gin, and this is evident from the nose forward. The long connection between the Royal Navy and rum can be traced back to 1655 and Vice-Admiral William Penn's expedition to the West Indies.
