Description

Beast Snagga leadership may be a violent and transient experience for most, but Zodgrod Wortsnagga has stood the test of time. The legendary Runtherd is more than just a force multiplier for his Super Runts – although he certainly is that too. Exiled from Ork society for being too nice to his Gretchin charges , there’s a reason he eventually found a home with the Beast Snaggas.

Zodgrod is pretty chonky on a 50mm base! Overall the detail is super crisp and he strikes quite the pose on the tabletop. The latest addition to the roster of 40k armies, the World Eaters also get a Battleforce for the holiday season! Following the trend of the big boxes containing the Daemon Primarchs, this time it’s Angron who’s leading his Berzerkers and Eightbound into the fray. The Squighog Boyz look great, but they are a decent amount smaller than Rob expected. Rob also recommends building these with Blue-Tac so you can paint them separately. You also get a Nob on a Smasha Squig, ready to charge through enemy lines and devour anyone who gets in their way. it followed a similar template to the Beast Snagga launch: the boxed set was available for a short time and included a limited-edition copy of the new codex, which released independently a few weeks after. Now it’s out in the wild, and includes a multitude of datasheets, Strategems, Relics, Warlord Traits, and more for the most fastidious enforcers of Imperial might.

And there’s a lot of units to choose from. Alongside the faction’s codex, GW also released the long-teased Paragon Warsuits, Celestian Sacresants (as shown on the codex’s front cover), and Dogmata, as well as faction-specific Battle dice and datacards. The Squighog Boyz are set up very similar to the Outriders, but they are not ETB. You get three squad size sprues for just these alone. Rob recommends dry-fitting all of these because there are a lot of bits. It’s now much easier to fit a mighty Stompa into your force thanks to their new Power rating, which drops from 46 to 34 (a drop of 175 in points terms, to 675). That cost is even more efficient when you factor in the new Dakka weapons rules, which boost the Stompa’s killing power. The Astra Militarum got a box true to the phrase “Cadia stands!”, as the Cadian Defence Force brings some serious firepower alongside the heroes of the Imperium. The box contains two squads of foot soldiers, two tanks and a command squad to guide them through the storm of battle. That alone would be worth a letter to Santa, but how much can you save on the Defence Force? But I can tell you a way of saving even more money by purchasing these at 20% off the recommended retail price!
