Description

Fantastic sequel to the Wild Robot. Just as sweet and simple as the first, The Wild Robot Escapes did not disappoint! Roz has been rebuilt and is working on a large dairy farm. Typical of Roz, she befriends all the animals (and the children), but longs for her life on the island as a wild robot, especially her goose son, Brightbill. Her kindness to others results in them wanting to show her kindness too and help her return to where she feels most at peace. However, there are a lot of obstacles that stand in the way of that journey!

Aren't we all a little broken and need the loving kindness of others from time to time, a gentle word here and there as a reminder that we matter to someone else? I know I do.We have read the Dutch translation of your first book and both me, my husband and our daughter loved it. Unfortunately this book is not available in Dutch yet, but let’s hope it will come. Thanks for all the joy you have given us while reading this amazing book! So we go from a lush green landscape full of animals and games to streets and buildings and robots working for humans. Since Roz is just another thing for the people there, she gets refurbished and is sold cheaply to a family to work on their farm.

The outline had 90 plot points, and I developed each one into its own chapter, so the book has 90 short chapters Of course, the book is also illustrated. I loved the art in the previous book, and I loved it in this one. The style just fits perfect with the writing style. However, Roz had an earlier life (first book), and the life she had there - which I will not go into - is still part of her big robotic heart. (Yep, Roz has feelings, developed from the 'instincts' with which she was programmed.) She's existing in a continual tug-of-war between the farm, farmer and his children AND her earlier life elsewhere. My name is Abby and I’m 14 years old. When I was 6, I didn’t know how to speak English and the culture of America. I love to read any nonfiction books, especially history one. I read The Wild Robot and The Wild Robot Escapes. I read these books because I attended the book club at my middle school in Illinois. For your next book, I would love if you put Brightbill finding his mate and the bad guy might be looking for the goose. Also, It would be great if you put Roz adjust the island. I hope you love my suggestions. If you do, please let me know. By the way, I love your second book. The Wild Robot Escapes' is the middle-grade sequel to the 'The Wild Robot' both written and illustrated by New York Times bestselling children's author/illustrator Peter Brown. Both books received widespread acclaim, with the first winning and being nominated for many awards.

The Wild Robot Escapes Summary and Study Guide | SuperSummary

You inspired me to write my own middle grade children’s book. My sons think it sounds “so much like Peter Brown”. I’m very flattered, but still working hard on the second book in the series, as I try to publish the first. Thank you for your inspiration. I am beyond grateful to you. Actually, my entire family is inspired by you.Once I had a detailed outline of the plot, it was time to write. The first few chapters flowed pretty smoothly. But the further I went, the clearer it became that the plot wasn’t as solid as I’d thought. Certain scenes didn’t make sense. There were too many characters. I needed to simplify the entire story arc. I spent countless hours researching and writing chapters that took place in a zoo, only to decide later that the zoo chapters were problematic, and I got rid of them all. I agonized over the names of each new character, trying to include a variety of names, renaming characters again and again, searching for the perfect name for each one.
