Description

Written by James Storey , this is one of the must-read job interview books for all interviewees, including those who are first-time and seeking a career change. This best job interview book covers everything from interview questions and answers to interviews, resumes, and interview tips. Further, it breaks down the art of interviewing into motivational and job interviewing. Book Review:

Kate has been given the chance to move on with an interview for a dream job with a cutting edge company. Maggie her recruitment agent showing up to boost her morale before setting off to the pub where she will meet her afterwards. Throughout the book, Kate is always saying, thinking and acting as the walking embodiment of morals, and yet is always banging on about how guilty she feels or how conflicted her actions are making her. It’s jarring and tiresome, which by the end made us feel quite tired of Kate as a character. It’s a shame because undoubtedly the potential to have a badass, nuanced and capable protagonist was right there. Kate starts to wonder what she has got herself into. Realising that she is on her own with Joel on the thirteenth floor, without any resources and fearing for her life.Off the bat, Ewan has undoubtedly tapped into a thrilling premise here. Taking something as mundane and ordinary as a job interview and gradually morphing it into something far more nerve-shredding hooked us in right from the start. We absolutely flew through the first half of the book or so.

I've seen a negative review of this book saying that how unrealistic it is... well durr, that's what makes it such an exciting story! Of course it (hopefully) wouldn't ever happen but then hey that didn't do The Matrix or Harry Potter any harm did it! My latest thriller THE INTERVIEW is about a seemingly normal job interview that turns out to be something very different and unexpected. It will be published in February 2022. Oh boy did I enjoy this book! The definition of a keep you up all night, read in one sitting thriller’Gayle has covered almost 150 questions on software programming generally covered by the interviewers and tried to guide how one should draft the ideal solution. It helps to analyze yourself, which in the author’s opinion, is the best way to frame answers and present them to interviewers to make them listen and want to hire or admit you. Kate Harding is going for an interview for her dream job at Edge Communications. It's the last interview of the day at one of London's newest office buildings and Edge have fitted out their part of the building to be something special. Maggie, Kate's recruitment agent, is keen to see that Kate approaches the interview in a good state of mind: Kate assumes that this is because Maggie will get a decent bonus if Kate gets the job - and she has to admit that life has not been easy for her recently. There is a unique and researched approach given for approaching the tough algorithm questions and how to make decisions in such problems.

The game I want to play is let's unravel Mimi. It's a bit like pass the parcel but with only one player. Me. I get to unwrap each of her layers as I unravel her mind with my filth." The characters could have done with a little bit more expanding upon in terms of their personalities, goals, motivations and beliefs, and we would have loved the psychological aspects teased in the opening chapters to have been carried through as the action unfolded. We couldn’t really get behind the aero industry being the big player behind all the events at work, and some of the twists tossed in during the book’s concluding chapters didn’t quite hit the mark in the way we think the author wanted. A f ast-paced twisty read that races along like an action movie’ - Sarah Pinborough, author of InsomniaOverall, we thought the characters all worked pretty well across the story. They’re all presented as being competent and intelligent, reminding us a lot of some of the characters from a book like Shiver or Breathless. What worked especially well was how Kate had to try several things before making any sort of breakthrough, such is the expertise Joel has in what he does. Common mistakes made by job seekers and behind-scenes of the interview process conducted at Google, Facebook, etc., have also been described in this book, helping to understand real-world practice and to help to prepare candidates for such jobs. Summary: The story is compressed into less time than it will take you to read it but you'll never be off the edge of your seat. A good read. I have my sights set on a man. A whole lot of man with eyes like a tiger and a bite I want to experience." The early interactions between Joel and Kate, where the pair are taking turns assessing each other’s responses and analysing their body language were really absorbing, and these sorts of forays into the psychological-thriller genre are where The Interview really shines, in our opinion.
