Description

Consistency-wise, they are quite thin, similar to pre-thinned airbrush metallic paints. From left to right: Broadsword Silver, Talos Bronze, and Hoplite Gold from the Speedpaint 2.0 range We recommend priming your miniatures with Colour Primer Matt White for best adhesion and vibrant colour All the paints are watery, but the metallics are even more so, so make sure to be more liberal than usual to bring out the sheen. Army Painter Speedpaint Mega Set 2.0 Review – Testing

Thank you for scrolling through my Speedpaint 2.0 review to this point. Now, the moment you waited for: metallic Speedpaints. These are… something. I was able to review the three colours from the Mega Set, but there’ll be 10 in total. I have to admit, I was a bit underwhelmed when I saw the promo shots, so I was eager to give them a try.Our revolutionary new Speedpaints Metallics are the easiest way to get metallic effects on your miniatures in one simple application. Speedpaint Metallics are the hobby’s first-ever metallic one-coat painting solution, and this paint set is the fastest way to get your hands on all ten! With colours ranging from rich Talos Bronze, to shimmering Broadsword Silver, and glimmering Hoplite Gold – you have the perfect metallic selection for your hordes of plate mail, carapace, and armour.

The Most Wanted Paint Set includes all the original 24 Speedpaint colours that were found in the Original Speedpaint Mega Paint Set reformulated for superior speed and performance. Question remains, which is my favourite range of all? I still prefer Contrast, as they are the most richly pigmented paints, and have a good selection of colours. Xpress Colors are a close second, but I also use the few unique Dipping Ink colours you can’t find in the Contrast range. I wasn’t a fan of the original Speedpaint’s reactivation, but now that the 2.0 formula made the paints more stable, I can definitely see using them more often. Instant Colors are the most different from all the others as they use opaque pigments, you can create some nice effects with them but I’ll only use them rarely. All Speedpaints come with two steel Mixing Balls already loaded in the bottle, making it easier for you to get the perfect consistency.
