Charles CVC370 - Larger blue wet-and-dry vacuum with a 15-litre dry and a 9-litre wet capacity which was also available in red, green and yellow at one time. In the late 1980s, this model and some others were also manufactured in cream-and-brown. [17] [18] If you want an upright carpet cleaner for a similar price, that you can also push across dirty carpets without needing to scrub, then the Bissell HydroWave is a good option. This doesn’t also operate as a vacuum cleaner, but has a number of useful storage features including a retractable handle and a handy drip tray. The rotating brush bars will agitate your carpet for you, but it isn’t designed for hard floors. The head of the family, Henry is certainly the most well known cleaner from the range. First introduced in 1981, Henry’s smiling face has been helping people to clean their homes ever since. Traditionalists will tell you this is the best Henry you can get, and if you’re looking for a reliable and affordable vacuum it’s hard to argue with this view. There’s actually two main models of this Henry, the Henry Hoover 160-11 and the Henry Hoover 200-11. The main difference between the two is the 160-11 has a bag capacity of six litres, whilst the 200-11 has a larger capacity at 9 litres.

Since its original launch in the 1980s, the Henry vacuum range has been a staple of homes and offices. But as the range grows, which one is best for you? George’s hose is slightly longer than the majority of other Numatic vacuums, which means he should be able to reach the top of an average flight of stairs. As he isn’t the lightest machine to move around, being able to leave George at the bottom of the stairs whilst you clean is a helpful bonus. This section does not cite any sources. When all is said and done, however, the emphasis on function over form is also some of the appeal. Spare parts are abundant and your local appliance engineer is unlikely to be put off by a repair job. The latest George is built from tried and tested components and will, in all likelihood, last for years to come. The upholstery nozzle is a powerful accessory that will go to town on the interior of a car as well as furniture. As mentioned earlier, this tool would be perfect for car valeting. There is also the hard floor head which is the tool to use on hard surfaces. Add to that all the usual benefits of the Henry range such as 9 litre capacity, a sturdy frame and reliable, long-lasting performance and you have the perfect addition for any pet lover’s home. Henry Eco: Although the eco and energy-efficiency of the Henry Eco come with slightly less suction and power, it still delivers a high-quality performance. It's definitely more than enough for the average home (unless you have several pets). While there are 15 models in the Numatic range, nine of them carry the Henry name. These include the:

Goodbye Harry..... Sadly Harry's days are numbered with the recent release of the 'Henry Pet' which has the same tools and features as Harry. Main article: List of Henry vacuum cleaners Various Henry models on display in Currys, Harrogate in 2022 A Henry HVR200 and Hetty HET200 Aside from the motor and EcoBrush, the Henry Eco has similar features to many Henry vacuums. These include a six-litre capacity, bagged design, and a wide cleaning radius. It also comes with Numatic’s standard combi head for carpets and hard floors. Great for washing the carpets in around your home. George is also a particular favourite within the car cleaning industry for deep cleaning car interiors. It also fell badly at the Cheerio hurdle. In carpet mode, the floor head doesn’t have any space to let a Cheerio under it and into the path of its powerful vacuum. On hard floor mode, the extendable brush does have some gaps at the front, which let some Cheerios through, but it still pushed most of our test spill ahead of it. In a nutshell, the floor head isn’t well suited for larger particles. It comes with that large 9L capacity dustbin, fantastic reach, and has multiple attachments included. However, Charles is quite a bit lighter than George and doesn’t come with as many accessories as his older brother. The main thing missing with Charles when compared to George is the extra carpet / upholstery cleaner. If this is something you require, then you’d be better off going for George, but if it’s something you don’t feel you need, then Charles is the man for you as he’s generally cheaper than George and lighter. Harry is a lot like his older brother Henry except he’s been design specifically for pet lovers. So, if you have a few four-legged friends running around this could be for you. Despite a significant reduction in suction power, improvements in efficiency means he remains a powerful and reliable vacuum cleaner, suitable for cleaning all types of services. Henry has also been built to be long-lasting, meaning he should last in your home for years to come. With a number of useful accessories included in the box, no cleaning job should be too hard. Like nearly all Henry vacuums the traditional Henry Hoover is corded and requires bags, so that’s something to bear in mind as he’ll need to be plugged in and have his bag changed from time to time. There once was a vacuum called “Basil” who was just the same as James. Available in more colours but he was discontinued in 2005. The last Basil was an orange Halloween edition.

For a more affordable option, perhaps because you’ve already got a functioning vacuum cleaner, there’s the Bissell PowerClean. This costs half the price of the George, but if all you want is a machine for cleaning carpet, it does a decent job for the price. Charles also comes with a wet floor tool. This is ideal for cleaning up spillages on hard floors, or indeed drying them out. I have seen these being used in work places such as car garages. Cleaning up wet slippy floors to avoid hazards. The Edward vacuum is just like Henry but he has a much bigger capacity. He is for dry use only and is a great upgrade if you own a business. All the Henry tools remain the same on Edward. He does however require the bigger Numatic NWM-2BH bags George is comfortably the most powerful vacuum cleaner from Numatic’s Henry Hoover range, and with great power comes great suction. George is more powerful than the rest of the Henry family because he needs the extra power when being used in wet cleaning mode, to allow him to clean effectively.

Henry the Hoover has become a mainstay in British households since his introduction in the early 1980s, meaning the original Henry Hoover has now been cleaning UK households and workplaces for more than fourty years. Famed for this smiling face and red colour, Henry has become a firm favourite and a vacuum of choice. There are a variety of considerations to be made before you make your final choice from the Henry vacuum range. Things like colour, shape, and whether or not it can handle cleaning up after your dog are important! If you want the no-nonsense design of a Henry vacuum combined with the convenience of cordless, the HVB160 is an option to consider. It’s more expensive than the corded Henry and doesn’t have the longest run-time, but the strong suction and large capacity mean it’s much better suited to heavy cleaning than most cordless models. He offers a combination of a highly efficient Twin-flo bypass vacuum motor and a Powerflo pump system which delivers professional cleaning standards anywhere and at any time. It draws much of its design from the Numatic Cleantec range of professional vacuum cleaners designed to deliver unbeatable professional results every single time. Unlike Charles, He comes with many more tools. He can also pump shampoo from his internal tank. The Carpet and Upholstery tools spray out the shampoo and extract at the same time. Giving your fabrics a deep clean with reduced drying times.
