Description

It’s that time of year when we need simplicity. We need healthy, hearty, ideally low-cost meals that don’t take up too much energy to make and are going to see us through our January hibernation. Decided to look for another recipe and adding the water and milk gradually and also by not opening the door for 25mims was a game changer. Using a weekly Meal Plan takes the drama out of midweek dinners. Stay balanced, save money and save your sanity!

Taming Twins Weekly Meal Plan 8 - Taming Twins

Quite new to taming twins… Started watching across various social media platforms. Wanted to use up some mince, so thought I’d give it a try. Heat up a little oil, add your chosen spices until they become fragrant (try cumin seeds, chilli flakes and fennel seeds) then add them to the dhal when it has finished cooking.. Be careful not to get them too hot or they will burn and taste bitter. Add everything (apart from the cornflour and serving ingredients) into the slow cooker and stir well. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 6 hours. In the fridge You can keep this recipe in the fridge for 3 days. Reheat fully in a hot pan with a little oil before serving. While this is cooking, make up the sauce by putting the cornflour in a jug or bowl and gradually mixing in the soy sauce (do this gradually so it doesn't go lumpy). Then add in the other ingredients and stir until smooth.

There are 10 weeks of meal plans, with no repeat recipes. Each meal (some when served with the suggested side dish recipe) is complete with carbs and veggies. Gnocchi is something a little different than normal pasta and works really well with plenty of sauce.

Taming Twins Toad in the Hole {Foolproof Recipe!} - Taming Twins

Yes! The texture may be a little courser than the slow cooker version, possibly not quite as juicy, but it will still be delicious.

Tinned pineapple (in JUICE)– make sure the pineapple is in chunks. If you buy the rings, you can just cut them up. You’ll be using the juice before you use the fruit itself in the cooking process. I use red, yellow and orange peppers for their sweetness but any colour will work. You can also cheat by using frozen peppers, but bear in mind these tend to be cut up quite small.
