Advantage: The auto-empty station is cheaper if you buy it in the bundle than if you’d buy the robot vacuum and the self-emptying dustbin separately. Lastly, it combines all the unique features that Deebot has innovated so far. It comes with Wi-Fi, auto-resume, Carpet boost, 3D Maps, Virtual Walls, an Auto-cleaning station, and so on. There’s no feature you will miss in the X1 OMNI. Vacuum Buying Guide With the Deebot OZMO T8 model, you can buy the T8 with the self-emptying dustbin as a bundle -> "Deebot OZMO T8+".

All three vacuum-mopping robots rely on laser-based navigation technology. You’ll recognise that once you see the typical laser tower (LDS=Laser distance sensor).A great feature was that the robot vacuum switched off the side brushes when driving around obstacles. That way, the mobile phone charging cable, for example, can’t get caught by the side brush. Large Battery Capacity allows for 110 minutes of uninterrupted runtime in one session, after which the robot will automatically charge and resume cleaning. The unit decided to restart with the charging at 90% complete, not full, which meant that the door to the theatre was not open when it started, so it skipped that room entirely, and the because the doors to three rooms it had previously cleaned were closed when it restarted, it decided not to label them at all so they cannot be scheduled in "area" cleans, there is simply no way to label them.

Good suction power - we have mostly carpet in our rented place and this thing cleans it up pretty well. With the larger battery, the Ozmo 950 has three levels of suction: Normal, Max and Max Plus. The Ozmo 920 has just Normal and Max. Slim design with a height of only 93mm, meaning it is much slimmer than other floor cleaning robots with Laser Mapping and Navigation Technology. Because of its smart navigation, it is suitable for those who have complicated floor plans and high-traffic rooms. If you have a lot of high-pile carpets, or a pet that sheds heavily, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 920 might not reach your expectations because it does not have a strong suction power compared to other vacuums. For all its complexities there are a few deficiencies in the map management, I feel. If a room was inaccessible during the first clean it can never be fully integrated into a map at a later date. It is necessary to delete the current map and perform a new full clean, this being despite the bot being able to subsequently enter and clean the room - it just never gets labelled. The simultaneous hybrid cleaning ability is one of the most welcomed and standout features on offer here, and it works quite impressively as well. It actually delivers in practice three levels of cleaning by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming all at the same time. It also offers intelligent carpet detection, so you never need to worry about a wet rug, as well as virtual boundaries, so it never cleans where you don’t want it to go. Unlike the Deebot OZMO T8 AIVI and the T8+, the Deebot OZMO 950 comes with a special "attachment for hair". Good cleaning performance. Cleaning tool for hair removal is included. You can’t disassemble the main brush.

You have to buy the Deebot OZMO T8’s self-emptying dustbin separately. Delivery scope of the Ecovacs Deebot OZMO T8 You then have to wait for it to rescan the entire house the next time you tell it to clean, leaving all the doors open (awkward with kids and pets), then re-identify all the rooms, re-enter all the carpet no-mop zones, all the virtual barriers and finally reconfigure all the schedules. In a large house like ours (over 200m2) this takes the better part of a day as it needs a recharge 2/3 through. You can also set the robot to map different areas -- for example, an upstairs zone, and a different zone for downstairs. Maps are saved in the app. In use, the robot is quiet -- even when on max suction. It does not bump into walls and efficiently cleans the area. As you are all aware, robot vacuums navigate independently courtesy of a set of wheels and a navigation system. There are also sensors for detecting obstacles and stairs. If that bothers you, then the Deebot OZMO T8 with laser-based obstacle detection might be a good alternative. Navigation is vital when comparing the Ecovacs models ( Deebot OZMO T8 vs T8 AIVI vs 950). Differences and similarities in navigation and obstacle avoidance

Why you can trust us

At less than half its recommended retail price, the Aldi Special Buy on the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 920 robot vacuum is certainly tempting. While we haven't tested this particular Ecovacs model, other models from the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 900 series have scored poorly in our expert tests. Our experts recommend that rather than being enticed by cheap prices or fancy features of robot vacuums, you should understand the limitations of this type of product and consider whether it's right for you before you buy.
