Home Electricals - Dry:Soon Heated Airers - Heated Blankets & Mattress Protectors - Fans & Heaters - Coffee Machines - Kettles - Toasters Thinking of buying the Shark CH950UKT Handvac? Read our review of this popular handheld vacuum before you make a decision. We think the Dyson has more powerful suction and all-round superior cleaning performance. But it’s one of the most expensive handheld cleaners on the market, unlike the budget Shark vac. It’s also bulkier than the CH950UKT. According to the product specifications, the 10.8V lithium-ion battery powers the Shark Handvac for up to 10 minutes. This is around average for a handheld vacuum, but is only suitable for spot cleaning.

Shark Classic Handheld Pet Vacuum CH950UKT

The lithium-ion battery is the power source to this vac. The specs say that it has a runtime of 10 minutes, which is (more than) true because I kept it kept running for 14 minutes 43 seconds from a full charge. However I do feel that it would be helpful to have an extra five minutes or so before the vac shuts itself down. There were a couple of instances where I was vacuuming-away, didn't notice the flashing of the power button to let me know that the battery was running low and then the vac cut out. Suction remained the same throughout the duration I was using it, though, which is a good thing. The Shark CH950UKT / Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus is one of the better handheld vacuums we’ve tested, so it’s easy to understand why it’s so popular. Its size, shape and weight make it perfect for cleaning your car, with its range of tools helping to ensure it’s always best suited for the task at hand.Note: If you’ve seen a version with rubber fins, this is the US model. The UK models have bristles. Other Tools and Accessories Remove the canister from the main body using the yellow button. Gently remove the filter frame from the dust cup. The Shark CH950UKT is a powerful handheld vacuum cleaner that offers great cleaning performance for fast, easy cleaning whenever or wherever you need it.

Long, rigid design makes it difficult to clean in awkward locations (such as car interiors or around computer monitors) Just be careful to search for the Pet Pro Plus model to ensure that you’re getting all the tools we talk about here if that’s important. There are a couple of cheaper models (CH900/CH901 – both without the “Plus” in the name) that are available from some retailers but come with fewer tools and in different colors. The Shark Handvac CH950UKT is an excellent handheld vacuum cleaner. It doesn’t come with many advanced features and it’s not the most convenient handheld, but when it comes to cleaning performance we think it’s amongst the best around. Instead, the Shark has a 2-part washable filter. While it’s not the best, we found that the filter still does a decent job of preventing particles from escaping. The CH950UKT filters are also easy to clean, although be sure to let both dry naturally for at least 24 hours before you use the vac again. Emptying and CleaningAs you would expect from a handheld vacuum, the Handvac has a simple design with an easy-grip rear handle. Shark has also kept it lightweight at 1.39kg (similar to the 1.38kg Dyson V7 Trigger,) which means it’s convenient to use and suitable for people with arthritis or hand pain.

Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus review | TechRadar

In terms of noise, the CH950UKT / Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus measured at 88dB, which is about average for this kind of vacuum, and suction power stayed pretty consistent until right at the end, when you could hear it start to waver as the battery depleted. Both of these are handheld vacuum cleaners from Shark, but they are built for very different purposes. With that said, we tested the Shark CH950UKT and found it lasted around 13 minutes with the motorised pet tool attached (although this is without active cleaning). While this still isn’t enough for a deep clean, it’s perfectly acceptable for the types of cleaning jobs the Shark is designed to handle. The four-hour charge time is also around average for a handheld. It’s not quite the best suction we’ve seen from a handheld, though. We still think the Dyson V7 Trigger has better performance, but it’s considerably more expensive – and there’s not a huge difference in cleaning power. Around the Home One thing to note is that this is a large handheld vacuum. It’s probably the longest we’ve reviewed so far, and it doesn’t fold or collapse to save space when storing it. Who should consider buying the Handvac? And how does it compare to other handheld vacuums? Keep reading our Shark Handvac CH950UKT review to find out.
