Description

The Priesthood of Mars marshals its troops to assault the Arks of Omen in Boarding Patrol: Adeptus Mechanicus. This diverse warband is led by a Tech-Priest Dominus and includes three Kataphron Breachers (that can also be assembled as Kataphron Destroyers), five Sicarian Infiltrators (which can also be assembled as Sicarian Ruststalkers), and 10 Skitarii Vanguard (who can also be assembled as Skitarii Rangers). Boarding Patrol: Chaos Daemons As I’ve said at a hundred points throughout this review already, the Azrael mini is a work of art – but the sheer standard and ultra-quality of this figure serves in part to draw attention to the fact that the Deathwing Terminators are beginning to show their age. Miniature sculpting has come on exponentially over the last few years, and whilst the quality of miniatures we see GW producing are world-leading in design and quality, some of the older parts of their catalogue are now starting to look a little outdated. That said, whilst the Deathwing Terminators are starting to show their age, I actually found myself adoring the kit for its myriad builds and oodles of details – even if they do look a little out of date. We’ll have a look at both of these figures, along with all the others in the set, right now! Azrael

The only thing we would say about these is that they feel a like a little bit of a safe choice. The likelihood is that people looking to buy this box for the Dark Angels miniatures will already have a few Intercessors, so might not want any more. With Wrath of the Soul Forge King, they also happen to make up the majority of the Dark Angels side of the box. Sure, they are an easy unit to apply the upgrade sprue to, so make sense from that perspective, but part of me is left wondering whether or not this will potentially be a turn-off for a lot of collectors. Deathwing Terminators

The Alpha Legion never make it easy for anyone, do they? The One Who is Many is either an assassin par excellence or a lot of assassins par excellence who are pretending to be a single assassin par excellence . Either way, he’s on his way to execute key characters at your command. The One Who is Many is sculpted in resin. Traitor Esoterist Consul I really love all of the boxed sets that Games Workshop puts out for 40K, and even though this set isn't dripping with new models, the introduction of Azrael (in his current form) and Vashtorr are a very welcome addition. If you've already got a Chaos Space Marines army, or a Dark Angels army, this is well worth splitting with a friend to pad out your forces. There are a few fiddly parts to these figures – particularly the Venomcrawler, which has a number of thin spines running along it. Do be careful when clipping these out to construct them, as you might break them. Warhammer 40,000: Wrath of the Soul Forge King Review – Price and Availability

A Review of the Azrael Miniature | Goonhammer

Deathwing Terminators, which can also be built as Deathwing Knights or a Deathwing Terminator Command Squad While most of the models in this box have been released elsewhere, we want to spend our time and attention focusing on the two new models added to the mix: Vashtorr and Azrael. Wrath of the Soul Forge King - Vashtorr The Arkifane Everything comes together to make something that’s distinctly Warhammer 40,000 but feels different in some ways – exactly what you’d expect from a Chaos demigod. It was a joy to work on this project, creating something unique within the 41st Millennium – I can’t wait to see what fans do when they get him. The narrative of this box ties into the third book in the Arks of Omen series, Arks of Omen: Vashtorr, which contains missions that will help you recreate this momentous battle.Again though, you will get access to these two new models before they are released separately. So, if you want them, this will be your only option for a month or so.

It’s bursting with lore to set the scene for the conflict that has been immortalised in the box, explaining who and what both factions are and who’s who in the box. There are also loads of fabulous pictures – both illustrations and photos of painted models – to further whet your appetite for the Warhammer 40,000 universe and hopefully inspire you to get painting. There’s not much to really say here. The Primaris Intercessor has very provided the design framework for every other Primaris unit we’ve seen over the last few years. They each have a satisfying, likeable sculpt that’s easy for new painters to understand and practice their skills on, yet have just enough texture and variation to allow more experienced brushsmiths to really create something special. The new Wrath of the Soul-Forge King box comes with two new models: A larger Azrael with a new hat and a physical manifestation of Vashtorr, the newest player in the Great Game between the Gods of Chaos. If you’re looking for a review of Vashtorr, swing over to his article to see the larger of the two new models from this boxset. Azreal, on the other hand, is the latest of the marine characters to have gotten a Primaris refresh. Read on for our thoughts on this most recent of enbigginings. Vashtorr is spread over two medium size sprues and comes on an 80mm round base. The model is completely monopose with no alternate building or posing options, or any optional bitz. What you see is what you get. This is a bit of a bummer, as the sprues have quite a lot of empty space between the wings. However, as he has a fully sculpted body, you can choose to leave off the body armour. Supreme Grand Master Azrael reviewAny set that contains a character with the reputation and grandiosity of Grand Master Azrael needs a suitable counterpart for them to square off against. Wrath of the Soul Forge King provides this in spectacular fashion with the brand-new Big Bad Evil Guy of the Warhammer 40,000 universe: Vashtorr. We’ll take a closer look at all this now. Warhammer 40,000: Wrath of the Soul Forge King Review

Vashtorr the Arkifane plans to tear the Imperium asunder. He has unleashed his Balefleets upon the galaxy to gather fragments of an arcane device known only as the Key.On the Dark Angels side, you will find 10 Intercessors, of which every Primaris collector probably already has hundreds, but at least there are two upgrade sprues to supply all models with Dark Angels shoulder pads, as well as a transfer sheet. The Firstborn Deathwing Terminators don’t really match the Primaris models scale and seem like the odd choice, at least the models are currently a pretty competitive choice. There are 11 sprues in the box for all the miniatures – two of which are Dark Angels Primaris Upgrade Sprues. Here’s the savings and value breakdown for the Soul Forge King box set for Warhammer 40k that contains the new Azrael and Vashtorr!
