The bit that this dehumidifier really struggles with is the handle. Rather than a fold-up handle like you see on other models in the range, such as the ProBreeze 12L and the ProBreeze 30L, this 20L Premium model has recessed hand-holds in the body of the dehumidifier. I also found it very noisy. Even when the fan was set to low I could hear it over the TV, and I definitely couldn't have slept with it running. I also didn’t find it a great help with drying clothes, whilst it did take some of the moisture out of the garments, it didn’t leave them airing-cupboard dry like the best dehumidifiers I've tested. The Pro Breeze 12L Low Energy dehumidifier's 40dB volume is already higher than the MeacoDry Arete One 12L Dehumidifier 35-38dB, but its the type of noise the Pro Breeze model creates that makes it the far noisier investment. There's no assembly required with this dehumidifier. However, as it's a compressor dehumidifier you do need to let it stand for at least six hours once it's been delivered to allow the refrigerant to settle before use. However, it's not perfect. A powerful extraction rate of 20L, plus that Laundry boost mode, means higher running costs. This dehumidifier guzzles 440W of energy compared to the 20L MeacoDry Arete One's 216W. What the Pro Breeze 20L Premium does offer is a more generous water tank of 5.5L compared to the 20L MeacoDry Arete One's 4.8L, although in practice we didn't find ourselves emptying the MeacoDry that much more frequently.

The Normal dehumidifying mode will work to bring a room's humidity to whatever humidity level you prefer (between 30% and 80% humidity), before switching off. High Extraction: Efficiently removes up to 12 litres of water per day with low energy consumption. Ideal for damp, mould, condensation, and moisture in homes, garages, and bathrooms suffering from damp and humidity. Small, portable and whisper-quiet thanks to Peltier technology, you can keep this sleek-looking dehumidifier on your nightstand or dresser and let it run all night without you even noticing. Although, if you are light-sensitive, we suggest covering up the glowing light! Removing up to 300ml of water, the Silentnight Dehumidifier works all day and all night to improve your bedroom's humidity and simultaneously filter out allergens (perfect for those with hay fever!). Then when the light goes from green to orange, just empty the tank, and start it up again. It's simple, easy to use, and the best dehumidifier for your family's bedrooms! Special Laundry Mode: Reduce the drying time of damp laundry indoors by absorbing moisture in the air from wet clothes. Litres per Day: Removes up to 12 Litres of water per day with low energy consumption. Ideal for dampness, mould and moisture in homes, basements and bathrooms suffering from damp and humid conditions. The Pro Breeze Premium 20L Dehumidifier with Special Laundry Mode arrived in a large cardboard box. This isn’t a light machine, in fact, it weighs in at 13kg, but thankfully, there are cutouts on the side of the box, which made lifting it and bringing it inside a whole lot easier. Plus, the MeacoDry Arete One dehumidifier'sSmart Laundrymodeworks brilliantly for drying washing indoors – wet laundry was dry in hours rather than the days it can usually take in the draughty Victorian terrace we tested the unit in. For comparison, at current energy costs, the 12L MeacoDry Arete One Dehumidifier uses around 4p of electricity per hour, and the Pro Breeze 12L Low Energy dehumidifier uses roughly 6p per hour. Not a massive difference in running costs, but worth bearing in mind before you snap up this dehumidifier purely based on its low energy claims. Noise levels If you’re looking for a dehumidifier that can clear moisture in a larger space or deal with significant damp levels within the home, then you need a dehumidifier with a high extraction rate.

So, if you’re after the smallest dehumidifier on the market, we think the Russell Hobbs RHDH1061G wins the accolade of best small dehumidifier, with good all round performance for its size housed in one of the smallest builds on the market – along as you don't expect too much from that 0.3L extraction rate. There are two main types of dehumidifiers that work in slightly different ways: desiccant dehumidifiers and compressor (also known as refrigerant) dehumidifiers. While all dehumidifiers have the same aim, which type you go for will depend on where and how you will use it. Desiccant dehumidifierIf you're not yet a member, join Which? to get instant access to the following dehumidifier brand verdicts: Argos, Blyss, Challenge, DeLonghi, Dimplex, Ebac, EcoAir, Electriq, Logik, Meaco and Pro Breeze. Whilst this dehumidifier is compact in stature, it is heavy, weighing in at 9.5kg. Pro Breeze have tried to make it as portable as possible by adding a fold-down handle to the top and built-in castor wheels to the base. And although it can't quite compete with the MeacoDry Arete One 12L Dehumidifier on energy efficiency, it is still relatively energy efficient, especially compared to other compressor dehumidifiers in the Pro Breeze range. That said, you may not need to move this dehumidifier around too much. It has a generous 35sqm range, so if you’re in a small to medium-sized home, it should do its job if placed in one central location. Maintenance Living in a Victorian terraced house, our home does suffer with damp and mould, and this dehumidifier extracted enough moisture from the air to fill the water tank in just four hours when I first powered it up.
