Tamlin tells Feyre that his father was a tyrant and that his mother loved him too much to say anything against him.

I fully recognize this isn’t reflective of the characters we know but its Nesta’s perspective of the characters acting towards her. Let me first answer a few questions to make you better understand whether you should read it or not. I don't understand how you can make a fantastic, wonderful trilogy about love, friendship, healing, and everything beautiful in this world, and then come out with a disgusting, trashy, smutty "romance" that has absolutely no plot, shitty character growth, and an overall shitty book. The two main points in the story that I remember is where she drinks wine and is happy; the other occasion where she doesn’t remember anything. It may be because this series is shorter than Throne of Glass, but in ToG I connected with the characters and by the end I really loved them and will never forget them whereas these characters felt very shallow in comparison. If you like Nesta, if you can tolerate her bitchy behaviour and even applaud it AND if you can tolerate Cassian talking about his ahm parts every two pages AND if you can bear through the cringey sex talk then this book is definitely for you. I read this when I was 12 and it didn't bother me, lots of people are saying that there is too much sex and no one under 18 or 16 should read it, but to be honest it's not that bad. Later when they are alone in her cell, Rhysand admits to her that he wants to be free of Amarantha and hopes that Feyre wins. The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit.

Another message directly pointed at the parents: you need to start letting your kid read more mature content at some point. In a vaguely ancient-Celtic world (whose map, at the beginning of the book, strongly resembles the British Isles) where the faeries regularly war with one another, engage in back-stabbing intrigue, and massacre hapless victims of all species, humans struggle to survive on the tiny bit of territory the faeries have left them. There's more festivity, less darkness in this hopeful series installment, but evil forces haven't gone away.I can tell you that although the first book, A Court of Thorns and Roses, is marketed as young-adult, there is one sexually explicit scene which some readers may not be comfortable with. I knew before even starting this book that I would dislike the journey that SJM had obviously planned for Nesta but I elected to power through because I genuinely liked Nesta’s character and she resonated with me on a personal level. Or they're going to end up like me——asking their friends to smuggle them the real books they want to read.
