First and foremost, it’s about finding love after loss, sparking a fire from the embers and building the life you truly want. its as if its only included because of the lack of overall tension and the story needed some sort of opposition. I read From the Embers and all I expected was a lot of sadness, grieving and guilt from the 2 MCs starting to fall for each other but their dead spouses were having an AFFAIR WITH EACH OTHER!

Chapter 10 ruined the book for me cause I guessed the twist which honestly it’s the norm in these types of stories.
