Firstly and the main update for me is the improvement on the original fiddly coil change system. This version has a push in coil installation – phew! You can't really adjust the airflow but for me they're perfect the way they are for both mtl and rdl. Make sure to fill the pod before use or else you will burn your coil out! Innokin Sceptre Pod Kit Basic Operation It is worth noting I have had building work going on at home and been using this kit. I dropped it multiple times and it’s still going strong. The only bruises it has to show for the rough treatment is some scratching to the body. The battery lasts me all day and more. I vape a lot and it's still green in the evening. Once the blue light comes on the battery goes rather fast but not a problem here. I don't use the booster mode by the way.

I like the design and how it feels in my hand. I bought the white. The bottom part is an ice white with a shimmer. The top reflects the light, a bit like my Samsung S10 does. There is only one way to install the pod – it will not even attempt to enter the housing if the wrong way around. I have to say these are still my favourite kits! See the photo below for how they look now – I also have the Sensis kit which I use the Sceptre 1.2ohm coils in as I love them so much! The Sceptre Tube kit is a bit of a strange one, limited to just 1 coil (0.5ohm S-Coil), 18-20 watts and aimed at RDL users which makes it a little niche, but with that it does excel in what it sets out to do, and the simplicity makes it a really good choice for new vapers and the budget friendly price makes it an even safer bet. It should also appeal to MTL users that prefer a higher wattage and airier draw, I tend to use 20mg nic salts but this kit will suit something like 6mg freebase e-liquid. The simplicity, price and compact size makes it a rather decent little tube kit. There’s little to no innovation, but generally tube kits are designed this way to be simple and convenient. ProsThe charging time is ridiculous – 2 hours – surely with a USB Type C port there is the option for faster charging than this! The first coil I tried was the 0.6ohm included in the kit which crapped out on me after only a few refills – so I was pretty disappointed.

I use these kits heavily daily – one in use and one on charge. The battery is still charging and holding charge perfectly. The fill port covers and USB ports are still holding up fine – usually these can be the first things that fail with long term use. Insert the sceptre pod into the device and a white LED light under the pod will shine through to show that the pod is securely connected, if you don’t see the light when inserting the pod, first make sure the textured grip bumps are on the open side of the device and the fill port on the closed side, or, if it is the correct way around make sure the base of the pod is fully secured on to the pod. This LED light can also help you see your juice levels in your pod easily. Design Options This is especially good news for me as I regularly buy S-Coils for the original Sceptre and the superb Sensis (which has just had a revamp with the Sensis EZ), I wasn’t expecting the Sceptre Tube to replace either of these and it doesn’t, however it has found a slot in-between as a superb budget friendly RDL option. Conclusion I think I have the 2ml version – I know from the previous Sceptre that the 3ml pods use the mouthpiece as a reservoir too, but the kits I have got do not – so I assume mine are 2ml. DeviceIt is easy to adjust the airflow setting with the slide switch although the text on the pod is a bit small to read easily.

The experience with this coil was similar to the 1.2ohm coil. It took a few refills before the flavour started to sing.A refill port is located on the side of the pod it is quite small, I had no issues with 10ml bottles but larger nozzles may struggle to fit. It is a bit fiddly to try and hold the fill port plug out of the way whilst filling though. Make sure the pod is empty before a coil change as e-liquid will come out of the pod base or mouthpiece when the coil is removed. If you cannot empty the pod make sure to have plenty of tissue around when you remove the coil. On the side, there’s the USB-C port, on the front there’s the fire button which has a small LED on either side (we’ll come to those), and then the pod sits nicely in the top and this held in place by some very strong magnets.

On the MTL setting with the 1.2ohm coil I find the airflow perfect. Even with the auto draw activation – it is quite a tight airflow but not the tightest I have used. Now onto the 0.5oHm coil which on the normal setting gives you 18W,and on boost gives you 20W. Loaded with Strawberry Milkshake, I gave it a whirl. I found my best settings were against with the boost and you can really choose with this coil what kind of vape you want. You can get a nice tight MTL draw from this with the airflow shut down, or you can get an equally nice RDL draw from it with the airflow fully open. I found myself using the airflow fully open for a nice restricted direct to lung vape with nice flavour, but I do wish the boost had added more than 2Wto give a warmer vape, but it was still a really nice smooth vape. Above and below the fire button are two different finishes, the Purple version for instance has a plain pale Lilac bottom half and a stripy Lilac and Purple top half. Even on the boost setting it is just OK. It is not horrendous let me make that clear, but it is just a bit lazy if that makes sense. To charge the Innokin Sceptre, connect it to your computer using the included USB cable. During charging, the Sceptre’s LED indicator illuminates red until the battery reaches 90-percent capacity. At that time, the LED changes to green. The light turns off when charging is complete. How to Fill the Innokin Sceptre Pod Both coils are made out of Kanthal, with the 0.5-ohm coil being mesh while the 1.2-ohm coil regular round wire. Note that the 1.2-ohm coil is gold while the 0.5-ohm coil is silver, so it is easy to distinguish between them even when they are inside the pod. Activate Boost Mode! Power off the Sceptre and hold the button, the LED cycles between normal (green) and Boost mode (purple). Boost mode creates more heat and vapor. With the USB port location plus the fact it doesn’t stand up very stably you will find yourself lying the pod down when charging or not in use.
