Written entirely from Brynn’s point of view we are taken on a journey of friendship, first love, companionship, heartbreak and deep connection. Of finding that one person who is your everything. It was a really lovely change to read from one point of view and I have to say I think it made the story even better…Brynn is such a wonderful person, her heart is over flowing with understanding and admiration for her friend Johnny while at the same time keeping it real with her sarcasm and wit. Still liking secondary story. Boy there's a hellish amount of guilt everyone's feeling in this book, for various reasons. Some a bit over the top, yet here and there it feels realish - in the sense that yes, I've known of people having to go through this. Or the parts where Ellie tries to get herself to stop crying - everyone knows the "I will now talk to myself and make myself stop crying" inner monologue thing. This is my favorite book by this author and she’s written some 5 star beauties. I will not forget these characters or the emotional impact of their tragic and sublime story. Ms Scott has very cleverly interwoven the past and present, bringing us the drama of their senior year and then where they both are ten years later. I did not feel the chemistry between them and no connection whatsoever so when they later on bragged about their fantastic sexual encounter, I just felt awkward because it felt like barging in on your grandparents. Eww. (Fyi, I have nothing about older people having sex - I've thoroughly enjoyed that movie with D. Keaton and J. Nicholson.)

Of course they have a wonderful HEA too, and we got to see a cameo by Henry and Reed from "The Weight of it All" which was a nice surprise. I loved the depth of the character development, as well as the beautifully laid out storyline. Ms. Scott is adept at both. She is well known for her young adult romances, but she also writes beautiful mature romances. She writes emotional, complex relationships that hit home. Johnny’s crash and subsequent need of his true friends from his home town is just the start of this incredible second-chance romance. Amelia Hapworth and Tim Warnes have created a cute and calming reading experience. This book is for parents who want to express their love to their children so they feel safe and protected. Personally I think the most important thing you can tell your children is that you love them unconditionally. This book helps you do that. The two main characters in this bedtime story are bears, but there are also illustrations of foxes, fish, rabbits, mice, squirrels and an owl. So really this can be an interactive experience if children point out and name the animals. The setting is a forest with snow capped mountains and a glowing sunrise at the start. So, a beautiful book with cute illustrations and a meaningful message.” – Rebecca I appreciated how NRW handled the pace, how the characters started to enjoy the other’s company and how the feelings came before the smut. There was no need to imagine how their lives would be when the book was over, you were witnessing it. It warmed my heart and made me stupidly happy. I finished this story with tears in my eyes! This is an angsty, second chance romance told in dual timeline and I really enjoyed getting to see both timelines progress to the point that tore them apart in the first place. Johnny’s character is so broken for so long and Brynn and her family are a critical support for him and his mom, and while she gives so much to help pull him out of his darkness, I loved getting to see the ways Johnny showed his love and pulled her into the spotlight when he had the strength. I recommend this one if you’re in the mood for an angsty, emotional read!Having said ALL that, just because I didn’t like this book at all, doesn’t mean somebody else won’t, so it’s worth giving a try!! I loved all the little details of this book from the red glass from Johnny’s mom to him recreating the same night of the concert all those years ago. ♥️ New to town Johnny Bishop is there to play and save the football team. Brynn Fisher is the band geek and the music director's kid. Johnny and Brynn start out as friends. Their chemistry and connection is there from the start and unfolds as the story is told. Bryn is a perfectionist at heart. She likes to take the safe route. Johnny is a risk taker, a football player and now, a music prodigy. I love how Brynn embraced Johnny's talent and helped him to develop it, eventually becoming his muse. Brynn's parents are warm, caring and welcoming offering solace in the storm. I never did IVF but I didn’t have a child until adoption after 16 years of marriage and the next child was a miracle and a surprise pregnancy.

This story followed Brynnes POV from their past + present romance. It shared the teenage angst of your first love and them finding each other all over again at 30. It was heartbreaking. It was beautiful. It was emotional. It was all of the things that make you forget about all of your responsibilities for the day and just READ. Estas dos personas se conocen en el último año del instituto donde él era nuevo y también era la estrella como de fútbol se podría decir que son unas personas opuestas pero que al momento de que se conocieron fue una conexión inmediata que lograron establecer una amistad muy bonita. Also I do wish the sex had been a little steamier. Which tends to happen with N.R. Walker books, but I'll never stop tooting this horn because no use skimping on the sex scenes. Which were good, they just weren't great. They could have been a lot steamier. This was just such a sweet book. I adored these two together. And little Benson was so adorable. I also absolutely loved Toby’s crazy family! This isn’t very long, I read it in one day. It made my heart happy. It was just so wonderfully fluffy, sweet and adorable, and you'll fall in love with these two and little baby Benson as you read. Their attraction to each other develops slowly and they're both aware of how complicated it could get, but they eventually can't ignore their feelings anymore.
