Some storage capacity is used for formatting and other purposes and is not available for data storage. 1GB equals 1 billion bytes. Not all capacities are available on all products. Since our first DDR4 review, we’ve tweaked the test setup a little. Firstly, it’s in a case now. This helps us evaluate the aesthetics in a more typical setup, as well as frankly saving some space compared to the open test bench. We’ve also updated the BIOS on our X570 Taichi to version 3.80. We have a new PSU, to free up our EVGA G3. Finally, the untimely passing of our RTX 3070 means we’re now on an RX 6800. Because of the changes, all our benchmarks have been rerun. We’ve also dropped CS:GO, which isn’t really memory sensitive on Zen 3, in favour of F1 2019 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The newest family of memory kits from Crucial aims to cater to both sides of the fence. The Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory comes in both a standard and an RGB variant. Combined with the variety of heat spreader colors Crucial is offering, the Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory line should have something for everyone. The Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory I have for testing today is a pair of Crucial's mid-spec kits: 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) 3200 MHz at 16-18-18-36 and 1.35 V. Un altro punto di forza riguarda la collaborazione di Crucial con produttori come AMD e Intel, nonché con progettisti di schede madri e costruttori di sistemi. Related Reading:The Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G30C15U4R is a 16GB (2x8GB) kit of DDR4-3000 memory with CL15 timings. It is a good value for the price, and it offers good performance for both gaming and general use. In ZenTimings you can see that the DRAM frequency is exactly 1967MHz and FCLK and UCLK are also 1967MHz. The timings remain at 16-18-18-18-38 CR 1T. In TestMem5 you can see that these settings completely passed the memory test with no errors. While not exactly on the same level as Samsung B-die, the Ballistix memory kit was close enough. We tuned the primary timings down to 14-16-16-36 by applying a 1.45V DRAM voltage.

As with the AIDA64 memory test results, interpreting the SISandra memory results are favoring different profiles depending on the test. The high-frequency profiles are clearly better for the Cache & latency test, while tighter timings are showed better scaling in the transactional throughput test. The Ballistix BL2K8G30C15U4R is compatible with a wide range of motherboards and processors, and it is easy to install. It also comes with a lifetime warranty. Car Parts and Accessories, Bike Parts and Accessories, Helmets and other Protective Gear, Vehicle Electronics 30 Days Returnable I think the main instability reason system having had to do with VDDG voltages. Mainboard default SoC voltage was below 1.1 too. After doing some reading about this totally new platform to me, I decided to bump up VDDG a bit (CCD to 1.000 and IOD to 1.075) and SoC to 1.1 - all to stabilize 1900 IF on 3700x. I left memory voltage on auto, which is 1.35. Seems stable (For now)As the Thaiphoon Burner screenshot shows, this specific kit of memory is composed of Micron E-Die ICs. We sometimes see fake screws implemented for design purposes, but the Crucial Ballistix Elite uses actual screws to mount the top bar. The top bar has a rectangular fin design and is held to the heat spreaders with two screws on each side. The side heat spreaders are composed of two pieces for each side. Crucial was founded on the belief that everyday consumers can, and should, have the ability to improve their computers through do-it-yourself memory upgrades. Greeted enthusiastically, Crucial provided the first-ever opportunity for end users to buy memory direct from a major manufacturer – Crucial When you install the RAM and leave the motherboard BIOS on its default “Auto” setting for RAM, it will run this RAM at the JDEC speed of DDR4-2667. You can see in the CPUz, HWiNFO64, and AIDA64 information above the specifications of the RAM at default, on Auto. The DRAM frequency is 1333MHz, FCLK is 1333MHz and UCLK is 1333MHz. The CAS Latency on Auto is a high 20-19-19-43 CR 1T and 1.2V. D.O.C.P. DDR4-3600

Product prices: Reasonable and cheaper when I bought it, but not worth as of 10/05/2021. Only buy this product if it is cheaper compared to local alternatives by 25 SGD. Stylish RAM for the people that need fast performance, the people that build their own PCs and perhaps customize them a little. In that mindset, Ballistix has released an updated SKU based on quality, performance, and aesthetics. Not the cheapest, but pretty cool with great looks and an XMP that can be enabled with a simple profile in your BIOS. We received a dual-channel kit, 16GB accumulated, thus holding 8 GB each. Rated PC4-28800 / 3600MHz at CAS latency 16 and sure, this has to be one a great looking memory kit, yes even without RGB, due to its all-dark design. T Crucial have sent over a 16GB dual channel kit of their Ballistix RGB DDR4-3600 for review (part number BL2K8G36C16U4BL). Strong 16-18-18 primary timings at DDR4-3600 make this kit especially interesting, as does the tight vertical integration – Crucial are the in-house memory brand for chipmaker Micron. This organisation has yielded a succession of memory frequency world records – currently DDR4-6666– and a retail kit with an astonishing DDR4-5100 rated frequency. However, when it comes to performance, most enthusiasts would rate competitor Samsung and their “b-die” chips as king.

PC upgrades. Well played.

We test this kit, their DDR4 3600MHz CL16-18-18-36 16GB (2x8GB) 1.35V kit. Depending on the platform you use it with, it is a dual-channel kit or quad of course. At the time of writing this kit sells for €109,- with prices still dropping. Next up is Geekbench 3, and it has proven itself to be an excellent tool for determining the real-world performance of the system being tested. This type of benchmark is a purely 2D calculation based, and there is no graphical processing element, so it’s a great analytical tool to evaluate memory performance. What I can base a recommendation on is the XMP results. Consistently coming in a close second to a much more expensive top-end kit is very impressive. The KLEVV kit in the same price range is consistently behind. Crucial’s Ballistix RGB DDR4-3600 provides top tier performance at an accessible price. What’s hot:

Below is the test system and resulting memory speeds that will be used to evaluate the memory and run the benchmarks. Test Setup Next, we will examine the performance using a few of the memory benchmark tests offered within the SiSoftware Sandra suite of benchmarks. The flagship product, known as Sandra, is a powerful suite of many different benchmarks to evaluate computer performance of all major components, including the processor, graphics, memory, and disk.

The Geekbench 4 results show a slight deviation from the expected result. Again, the relative performance differs by a fraction of a percent, but for half of the tests, Crucial Ballistix Elite wins. This could be attributed to the slightly different timing profile. However, when it’s this close, run-to-run variance and experimental error become real factors for consideration. Mach3.2 Thanks for suggestion, doing the test you mentioned now. I will update once it reach few more cycles or/else fails. As we might expect, the Ballistix Elite faired fractionally worse than the Trident Z Neo. While they were remarkably close in performance, due to the fact that both are running 3600 MHz, G.SKill is running tighter primary timings which give them the edge here.
