Description

The BoostUp Charge Pro 3-In-1 Wireless Charging Stand With MagSafe is one of the latest MagSafe chargers from Belkin that's compatible with the latest iPhone 14 lineup. The 2nd generation of this popular MagSafe 3-in-1 charging stand, and this time around, it adds fast charging support for the Apple Watch Series 7 and Series 8. There's no definitive evidence that it's harmful. You may worry the phone's battery might degrade faster with wireless charging, but manufacturers set safe limits for phone batteries, stipulating how much a battery can be charged and how far it can discharge. Regardless of the charging source you use, whether you plug into a wall adapter or use a wireless charging pad, these limits can’t be overridden. There’s no risk of overcharging your phone by leaving it on a wireless charger all night.

If you’re an all-Apple-all-the-time iPhone user who prefers wireless charging, Apple’s MagSafe charger is for you. The charger and iPhone magnets are made for each other, meaning this charger snaps easily and securely into place, and like most Apple products, looks sleek. It charges up to 15W on most iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 models when plugged into a 20W adapter and also works with older Qi-compatible iPhones and most AirPods/AirPods pro cases. In testing, our iPhone 13 reached 25% battery in 30 minutes using the Apple MagSafe plugged into a MacBook Air. Although on the heavy side, it’s super-compact and great for travel. The Watch charging part is hidden in the cube until you need it. It comes with a 30W USB-C wall charger with switchable UK and EU plug fittings that slide onto the US plug prongs. The most basic form of MagSafe or magnetic charger is the simple pad that latches on to the compatible iPhone. Some pads feature a pop-out arm so the iPhone can be propped up while charging.

It’s as minimalist a design as you’d expect from Apple–it looks a lot like the Apple Watch Charger. Don’t rule out mere MagSafe-compatible chargers as they are often high quality and nearly always noticeably cheaper. “MagSafe compatible” is used widely to mean any accessory that includes a bunch of magnets. This is a great combination of desk-bound charger and portable power bank. For more options, read our roundup of the best MagSafe power banks. This 3-in-1 MagSafe charger is certified by Apple, so offers full 15W wireless charging for iPhone 12/13/14/15 plus 5W for AirPods and 5W for Apple Watch. You’ll also want to consider where and when you’ll need to charge your device, as some chargers double as power banks or are compatible with car charging when you’re on the go. Finally, if you often need to charge several devices at once, consider a 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 charger. More from Tom's Guide

The MagSafe iPhone charger can angle and tilt by 35-degrees, and hold the device in either landscape or portrait—so works well in iOS 17’s StandBy mode.

The most obvious MagSafe Charger to buy for your Apple iPhone is, of course, the Apple MagSafe Charger. It’s the charger that Apple would have shipped with the iPhone if it did such things anymore. The Anker 511 Charger (Nano 3, 30W) is the best option for charging the iPhone 14 at home or on the go. It offers a compact design while delivering sufficient power for fast charging the latest iPhones, including the iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, if you prefer an affordable option without compromising compatibility or fast charging capabilities, the official Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter is a better alternative. The Apple Watch extension can be disconnected from the main station and charged via a USB-C port to become a standalone wireless charger when travelling. The Journey SWIV 3-in-1 reviewed above is a little larger but noticeably lighter, and also can fast-charge the Apple Watch. This charger still works great with other smartphones, you just won't be able to access many of those Pixel features. The biggest downside? Charging only works in portrait orientation. Oh, and it's definitely overpriced. The good news is the first-gen Pixel Stand is still available for much less; you can recharge your phone in landscape and portrait orientation, and I daresay it looks more interesting. Alogic has created a modular system that transforms what is often a static charging station into something more dynamic and portable. It’s called Matrix and features several products, some of which can be used with each other depending on your charging needs. The Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger is a neat, portable way to charge all your Apple mobile devices—Watch, iPhone, AirPods—at the same time. The base charges at 7.5W and can be used to power up AirPods or a second iPhone, and the Watch part fast charges at 5W. Outside of Apple’s own products and a couple from favored accessory maker Belkin, there aren’t a lot of MFI-certified MagSafe chargers to choose from anyway. These two companies have the certified market sewn up, although Zens makes some deluxe products available from the Apple Store.
