Description

Tech-priests are members of the Cult Mechanicus, the Cult of the Machine, a priesthood which forms an ecclesiastical hierarchy of technicians, scientists, and religious leaders who believe that knowledge represents the only true divinity in the universe. Such strange and threatening powers were not without price, and by doctrinal tradition such individuals gave up an easy route to power within the ancient Mechanicum, so dangerous did their fellows consider the secrets they wield. Although the Emperor is venerated by the Adeptus Mechanicus for his ancient knowledge and comprehension, the techpriests do not follow the Imperial Cult, but a wholly different religion, known as the Cult Mechanicus or the Cult of the Machine. [1] The priesthood was held for life; dates given below represent the year in which the priesthood is recorded.

Acolytes of Abraxas- A heretek group who seek to learn the secrets of warp-based Xenos technology and incorporate it into their own bionics. [29] Enginseers almost always make use of the cybernetic enhancements that are common among Tech-priests, in this case bionic arm augmentations that appear to be very similar to serpentine tentacles known as mechadendrites. As for the Performance, the Narrator, I think, did "ok" not fantastic but not terrible. I was horribly lost when it came to recognizing voices as characters, especially Space Marines and Mechanicus characters, as all the Space Marines blurred together and instead of sounding intimidating, just sounded out of breath or in need of a cough. The Mechanicus sounded like they were talking while pinching their noses. They did just fine with "mortal" voices however. Whereas nearly all the citizens of the Imperium observe the tenets of one of the various sects of the Imperial Cult that worships the Emperor of Mankind as the God-Emperor, the Adeptus Mechanicus is virtually synonymous with the Cult Mechanicus, another faith that could easily be considered heretical by the rest of the Imperium if the Adeptus Mechanicus was not essential to the survival of the Imperium and if the Tech-priests had not proven their loyalty to the Emperor in countless ways. The fabricator-general of Mars is the leader of the entire Adeptus Mechanicus across the galaxy, and also serves in the position of the Magos Mechanicus, the chief priest of the Cult Mechanicus, the religious hierarchy that coexists alongside the Mechanicus' more secular function for the Imperium. A breed apart from regular Tech-priests, any Explorator or member of their team will willingly walk into forgotten catacombs, even at the risk of death, for mere snippets of long-forgotten knowledge from the Age of Technology.

Each year in March, the Salii made a procession round the city, dancing and singing the Carmen Saliare. Ovid, who relates the story of Numa and the heavenly ancilia in his Fasti, [1] found the hymn and the Salian rituals outdated and hard to understand. During the Principate, by decree of the Senate, Augustus's name was inserted into the song. [2] They ended the day by banqueting. "Table of the Salii" ( Saliaris cena) became proverbial in Latin for a sumptuous feast. It is unclear whether the primary aim of the ritual was to protect Rome's army, although this is the traditional view.

They are used throughout all the divisions of the great galaxy-spanning bureaucracy that is the Adeptus Terra, but are most concentrated, for obvious reasons, among the bureaucrats in the Adeptus Administratum.
