Another exciting mystery starring Harrison "Hal" Beck and his Uncle Nat, but this time we have gone stateside! It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you. Before writing stories for children, he worked as a playwright, journalist, and digital producer, and founded a company making murder mystery treasure hunts for adventurous Londoners. When the daughter of a billionaire entrepreneur goes missing enroute, can Harrison Beck uncover the kidnapper? But when the daughter of billionaire entrepreneur August Reza goes missing en route, Hal finds himself with another mystery to solve.

G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman in the second mystery adventure in the major Adventures on Trains series. After completing artistic studies she made a career in advertising and has been the founder and owner of a small award winning design and trade business. There are a few little edit niggles that takes a little off the rating but overall this is a book I really did enjoy and can confirm that the other books in the series are on the kindle ready. So when his Uncle Nat invites him aboard the California Comet, the iconic three-day train journey from Chicago to San Francisco, he leaps at the chance to travel.

My daughter and I read this book together as a bedtime story, having previously read the first mystery in the series, The Highland Falcon Thief. We first met Hal and his Uncle Nat in last year’s first ‘Adventure on Trains’, The Highland Falcon Thief (you can read my review of that here) and I have been looking forward to this second adventure ever since! In this book’s adventure, Harrison is aboard the beautiful, iconic California Comet, with the aim of interviewing a battery billionaire. The first-class follow-up to former Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month The Highland Falcon Thief finds Harrison Beck on the trail of a billionaire’s missing daughter whilst travelling from Chicago to San Francisco. He grew up with a railway line at the bottom of his garden and has been fascinated by trains ever since.

During the trip on the California Comet we find Harrison has managed to make some friends with a few children onboard but when one of those friends disappears following a clearly witnessed kidnap can Harrison and his new friends come up with the answer to find what has happened and solve this mystery? He’s guest aboard the California Comet with his uncle Nathaniel, a travel journalist and railway enthusiast. The illustrations are beautiful and add so much to the story, Hal (aka Elisa Paganelli) uses his amazing artistic skills to help him solve the mystery. You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. This second instalment sees Hal in the middle of a mystery that keeps you looking for clues throughout. This is the second of the Adventures on Trains Mysteries, and Harrison Beck is on a very special trip to the USA with his Uncle Nat aboard the California Comet, travelling from Chicago to San Francisco. Board the California Comet and help Harrison Beck to solve another heart-stopping mystery in the second Adventures on Trains story, Kidnap on the California Comet, from bestselling authors M.

Ted likes the weather, he also likes statistics and routine but his life is thrown into disarray when his Aunt Gloria and cousin Salim arrive, like a hurricane, to stay in London en-route to a new life in New York. It was good to be back with the familiar characters of Uncle Nat and Hal and to meet their fellow travellers on the California Comet. Board the California Comet and help Harrison Beck to solve another heart-stopping mystery in the second Adventures on Trains story, Kidnap on the California Comet.

This is another well worked and clever story that is for children but can easily be read by adults as there is no dumbing down in the language or style of writing.
