Meltaguns are not a weapon you see a lot of in Kill Team (unless you count fusion pistols). While the D6 damage is great, having only one shot in a world where you often shoot at a -2 penalty is quite risky. Running the Sniper Specialism and pairing with a Comms Specialist is one way to improve your odds but it’s costly (in terms of model and CP investment) and those 2s will still waste an activation. Finally among the sometimes-valid ones, Aegis of the Emperor is very good in the right matchups, and feels like a strong consideration if you’re up some of the popular Daemon lists or a soon-to-be-unfortunate Grey Knights player. The basic 1d6 Shield of Faith deny will rarely do much by itself, but adding this makes it much more likely to actually help, and makes life tough for armies trading off smite spam. The Hallowed Martyrs detachmentemphasisesthe righteous fury (and disdain for personal safety) of the Sisters with its ‘Blood of Martyrs’ special rule. As soon as a unit in this detachment is below starting strength (or has lost one wound, in the case of a single-model unit), it gains +1 to Hit. It also gets +1 to wound when it drops below half strength. Through political manoeuvring (and quite a few assassinations), Vandire positioned himself to rise to the head of the Ecclesiarchy as well, becoming High Lord of two of the most powerful branches of the Imperial government at once.

The Adepta Sororitas are the military wing of the Ecclesiarchy. Known by many as the Sisters of Battle, they are an army of pious and highly skilled warriors who purge heretics and enemies alike with their 'holy trinity' of bolter, flamer and melta.She is a paragon amongst the Sisters of Battle, armed with a fearsome blade that cuts through foes like butter. You might also recognise her as the star of the original 2nd Edition Sisters of Battle Codex cover. Finesse Required– With fragile units, if you leave your army exposed or send them in at the wrong time or in the wrong place, they will die without having done too much. In the modern era, the Sororitas are second only to the Space Marines in the quality of their equipment, and second to none in their unwavering faith. With such a small force, the vast wealth of the Imperial Church pays the exorbitant cost of equipping every sister with power armor and the training to use it. If the Astartes form the spearhead of a crusade, the Adepta Sororitas are often its heart, bolstering the masses of the Astra Militarum with unshakable faith and bloody minded determination. Brutal Linebreakers– Sisters have a few units that hit hard in close combat. If you can deliver these to the right spot in the enemy lines and capitalize on the disruption they cause you will be well on your way to winning a game.

Blessed Bolts (2 CP): I like this a lot. Turn your Storm Bolter into an AP-2 D2 monster weapon. In Rapid Fire range, that’s quite nasty and threatens a wide range of targets in Kill Team. It’s a bit pricey but can be clutch in ensuring that a key target goes down. B+ From this set, Purity of Faith gives you access to a single CP 50-50 Psychic power deny, even if you don’t have anyone who can actually “Deny the Witch”, making Sisters lists have a little extra wiggle room since you’ll be less forced to take defensive psykers! (although you still might want to anyway)With Van Dire’s death the Age of Apostasy came to an end.The Imperial Senate passed the Decree Passive,which prevented theEcclesiarchy from fielding men under arms. Carefully following the very letter of the law, the Ecclesiarchy became the patrons of theall-female Brides of the Emperor as their military wing, renaming them once again into the Adepta Sororitas. The remaining choices don’t make a ton of sense; flamers, meltaguns, chainswords, and power swords all require you to put your leader in harm’s way and when you’re sporting a T3/3+/1W profile, that’s not where you want to be. Whilst the Sisters of Battle are firm in their faith, it doesn’t mean they don’t need correction from time to time. The Sister Dogmata is feared by both enemy and friend, as she is the only Adepta Sororitas who can condemn a sister to the Repentia. On the battlefield, she strikes at foes with her mace whilst exhorting the Battle Sisters to even greater feats of valour.

Little to no shooting outside of 24″– You have the occasional Heavy Bolter and maybe an exorcist, but most of your shooting is limited to 24″, and most effective inside of 12″
