There aren’t many examples of future tense being used effectively continuously in novels, but in the Spanish editions of the novella Aura Carlos Fuentes uses future tense to good effect.

You have an opportunity to showcase voice as the reader can see into the characters immediate thought process. Consider the type of narrative you are using and how you want the action to unfold. Perhaps you can use a combination of past and present narratives to best deliver the story and showcase your characters. The main reason I wanted to read this is because I’m a fan of Hugh Cornwell’s music. Cornwell was a member of British band, The Stranglers. Not quite punk, not quite pop – just damn fine music. Normally, I don’t read these kind of books, but I was intrigued. I’m not a big mystery/thriller reader but I am glad I gave this a chance.
