Their parents found Mr. Munroe during one of their trips to Norway. This is the perfect series for fans of The Sinclair's Mysteries, Murder Most Unladylike, the Mysterious Benedict Society Series, Alice Elcair and the Adventures on Trains series. One day, Ottoline’s parents travel to Norway on the hunt to find ‘Quite Big Foot’, the Abominable Troll of Trondheim. Coincidently, Mr Munroe comes across a pair of ‘bog goggles’ in Ottoline’s parents’ collection, which enable him to see clues about Quite Big Foot. Captivated by the images, Mr Munroe tries to draw Ottoline’s attention to his discoveries, but she ignores him. So he decides to go and find Quite Big Foot by himself, leaving a message to Ottoline in string, spelling the word ‘Norway’. But before she finds out, we are introduced to a new character, a bear from Canada, who is taking a holiday in the apartment basement rather than hibernating. He is to become Ottoline’s assistant in her forthcoming adventure. The story line is clearly written and obvious enough for early readers to follow. I think the concept of boarding school and a life where parents are rarely around might be enough to interest some children but the overall story isn't terribly exciting. The illustrations however, are very well done and truly what make the book interesting. El lenguaje, ameno y conciso, hace que nos sumerjamos sin problemas en la historia, incluso incorporando en ella palabras inventadas de lo más atrevidas, una lectura ágil con una combinación refrescante de ilustración chispeante y un diálogo fundamental. After a lot of hard work by Mr. Munroe and lot of planning and help from the Service Agencies, Ottoline and Mr. Munroe do manage to catch the notorious jewellery thief and hand her to the Police. The pet dogs are reunited with their owners, some of them actually hated their owners, because they insisted on taking them to a pet saloon. I loved how Goth Girl made a cameo in this one, and I loved how Ottoline dreamt of Goth Girl. I wouldn't mind having a book with both characters in it. :) Ottilian äiti lähettää tyttärelleen postikortteja matkoilta. Ne päättyvät aina P.S. merkintään, missä äiti antaa Ottilialle tai Mauri-herralle ajankohtaisia vinkkejä mm. asunnon siivoamisesta. Jälkikirjoitusten perusteella hän tuntuu tietävän koko ajan, mitä Ottilia puuhailee, vaikka onkin toisella puolella maailmaa.

In this story, Ottoline and Munroe meet a young girl Cecily Forbes-Lawrence III an her Patagonian pony, while the duo are visiting the Pettigrew Park and Ornamental Gardens to feed the turtles. Ottoline is instantly enthralled with Cecily (who doesn't seem all that nice to Munroe) and when Cecily tells her that she will be attending the Alice B. Smith school Ottoline sends a letter to her parents asking that she be permitted to attend as well. Along the way, Ottoline's adventure includes hunting for mermaids (which turn out to manatees), meeting the Polar Bear Shoe Company, and visiting with Ringo and George (two green-nosed trolls who live in Norwegian Wood). There is nothing in this book to frighten young children, the Quite Big Foot turns out to be friendly and mischaracterized. Similarly eccentric, her parents travel the world as professional roving collectors while Ottoline stays at home with Mr Munroe. Ottoline is a seemingly ordinary little girl with a penchant for wearing unusual mismatched shoes, who lives in a high-rise apartment building with Mr Munroe, a hairy bog creature.
