Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books. Ellie doesn't take to her life as a cat but what she does find is Jolly isn't very well thought of by the other creatures in and around grandma’s house.

Ellis meets some interesting characters, spiders and rats, and manages to make friends with them and encourage them to help her complete a task set by her grandma. She goes to visit her Grandma on holiday but little does she know she is in for a surprise which will teach her to change her ways. Although Jackie looks after Gran's tatty old donkey, Barnaby, she longs to have her own horse like the local boys. So with a little bit of magic and some help from Jolly the cat, Grandma's going to make sure that Ellie changes her ways.Malorie has also been awarded the Children's Book Award and the Eleanor Farjeon Award as well as an OBE for her services to children's literature. This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally).

I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! Ellie doesn't want to as its just another move she can do without bit her mother insists as her father is going away to another job and she can’t look after her. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. The result of this constant upheaval is Ellie can’t make friends, isolating her and makes her sad, lonely and depressed.
