Low draws on the German electronic bands of the period and New York Minimalism but is equally indebted to funk and disco (both Bowie and Eno were quick to spot the importance of disco at a time when their less open-minded, not to mention cloth-eared rock contemporaries we're dismissing it as commercial garbage).

There is a wide soundstage and a lot of detail but the bass gives you the feeling of sound coming from a rehearsal room. There are two instrumentals on side one, the album starts with one of them, and three of the four tracks on side two feature vocals. Low is the eleventh studio album by the British rock musician David Bowie and was released on January 14, 1977 on the RCA Records label.Low saw Bowie reuniting with producer Tony Visconti, and was the singer’s first of several collaborations with ambient music pioneer Brian Eno.
