Description

quinton de haas, our first mmc, is reserved, laid-back, and confident, yet emotional and genuine (with his person).

This makes it less appealing to the reader, and sure the author tells us why they "hate" each other, but the supposed "hate" felt more like a dislike, and honestly, "the beef" was kind of dumb. secs to accept that he is, in fact, bi, and to start chasing (and falling for) Oak, who proved to be the reluctant one here. So I say don’t get put off by this because you do get to see their connection build while being physical with each other, but also outside of that too.The decision to revisit it was prompted by the recent release of "Caught Stealing," the second book in the series, and my somewhat forgetful memory necessitating a refresher on the events of the inaugural book. I picked this up because I was really in the mood for M/M and it definitely scratched that itch for me.

So as they find a reason to spend more time together and are forced to get to know each other, their connection isn’t only in the bedroom.I forgot to review this and it’s been a week 🤷🏻‍♀️ sooo if it’s a mess don’t hold it against me 😂 This book is a perfect example of how an author can take a trope we see over and over again and make it feel brand new. Then there was the predictable 75% split because of course what happened at the beginning was going to cause chaos. He’s just the snarky, dark haired blue eyed bad boy who hides his hurt beneath a smirk that I’m a total sucker for! One could also argue the 3rd act breakup that OF COURSE occurs–not really a spoiler because it ALWAYS happens–was overdramatized, but again I think that just comes down to the specific reader and their personal opinion.

Maybe not involve as much going on, especially if they ended up not being issues later on in the story? Other thing I didn’t disliked but I would preferred in another way and in lesser quantity, and these are the sexual scenes, there are too many from my pov, and too little plot development in comparison. I absolutely loved Oakley and Quinton’s story here as they go from bitter rivals/teammates to steamy AF lovers….

One night, in the bathroom at a party, their tumultuous back and forth sees proving a point going a step too far and one of the men on their knees. I also enjoyed how affectionate they were with each other out of the blue, like their unexpected hugs, kisses, and cuddling. O bom desse livro é que não teve todo aquele drama de sair do armário que li em outros livros do tema ( não que não seja importante) só queria uma coisa diferente disso e teve aqui.

Someone likes to dig a hole for himself in every occasion that presents him, I have never seen anyone that crazy and stupid, falling for such obvious provocations. oak is suspicious of his friend, kind of knowing what he did, but wasn’t “100% sure” although his friend made it very obvious. I like reading about hockey so I liked seeing two main characters on the ice, loving and hating each other almost at the same time. We know hockey players can be very superstitious, so they come to an agreement to continue these steamy encounters to see if they win again….She believes home isn’t a place, but a feeling, and it’s one she gets when she’s chilling lakeside or on hiking trails with her dogs, camera in hand. The pinch between his brows is kind of cute, and it takes a good amount of self-control—an amount I didn’t know I possessed—to keep my thumb from smoothing it back out. Quinn stole my heart in this book, and while he was cynical and moody, all he really needed was somebody to be there for him! When they win their first game of the season the next day after a handful of losses, they're convinced that what happened in the bathroom had something to do with it.
