I was unsure going in as it has very mixed reviews but I LOVE rockstar romance and this didn’t disappoint. Back in April, BB gave us the first hint at Lilac and had given us bits and pieces throughout the next few months. but then i was quickly suspicious bcos she kept mentioning a taste of cherries in her mouth whenever she was in close proximity of the guys. whenever she put one of them in her place, mainly Loren, i revelled in the shit she said to him bcos that man deserved every nasty thing thrown at him🥰 that being said, i wish she’d held him accountable more in the beginning for some of the shit he pulled – especially bcos he rarely showed any remorse.If you're a fan of rockstar/music theme, an enemies-lovers vibe, and reverse harem, then this book is a perfect read to end the year with. He flirted his way out of every fuck up he made with Braxton, but she didn't truly let him in until he became more vulnerable with her so we could see the man who was abandoned by his family, a man who was always used as a pawn by others except for his best friends. i will protect this man with my life 🔪 any disrespect to my blushing soft boi will require retribution. I think what really made Lilac a must read for me, and what makes it more than an RH novel delving into feminine fantasies, is the driving idea behind the story. Through it all, though, BB Reid exemplifies that real love will shatter and break but it will heal, even when the cracks remain.

this lil old review is riddled with spoilers just as i imagine Loren is riddled with a variation of venereal diseases. Even though there were four POVs in this book they all felt dissimilar enough from each other that I wasn't put off. We get multiple points of views from our main characters and I loved seeing their growth throughout the year or so that this book takes place. Braxton was such a brat with them for a lot of it, having them run round after her, begging for her 24/7 when she was a mindfuck herself imo?By then, Loren’s groupie was coming and announcing it to anyone within hearing distance as if she were going for an Oscar. I haven't read many reverse-harems but I know authors all have their own unique way of taking on this trope so I was very intrigued to see BB’s approach.
