Description

A PIR-based motion detector is used to sense movement of people, animals, or other objects. They are commonly used in burglar alarms and automatically activated lighting systems. These differentials are what the PIR sensor uses to detect movement, sending a message to the alarm panel and sounders if active. It is important to seal the PIR sensor itself inside material that can reduce the outside influences of temperature or humidity, such as metals like silicon. Pet-Friendly PIR Sensors The plastic window covering may have multiple facets molded into it, to focus the infrared energy onto the sensor. Each individual facet is a Fresnel lens.

PIR sensors are great at determining if you have an intruder or it’s just an animal, for example. They have a better accuracy level and can reduce false alarms overall. However, you should pay attention to some small details to further reduce the risk of false alarms from your PIR motion sensors. PIRs come in many configurations for a wide variety of applications. The most common models have numerous Fresnel lenses or mirror segments, an effective range of about 10 meters (30 feet), and a field of view less than 180°. Models with wider fields of view, including 360°, are available, typically designed to mount on a ceiling. Some larger PIRs are made with single segment mirrors and can sense changes in infrared energy over 30 meters (100 feet) from the PIR. There are also PIRs designed with reversible orientation mirrors which allow either broad coverage (110° wide) or very narrow "curtain" coverage, or with individually selectable segments to "shape" the coverage. Additional uses can be in public toilets, walk-in pantries, hallways or anywhere that automatic control of lights is useful. This can provide energy savings as the lights are only turned on when they are needed and there is no reliance on users remembering to turn the lights off when they leave the area. The qwyeuro advantage:high-quality switches specially designed for the home, the lights come on when people come, and the lights go off when people walk off, reducing energy waste

The housing will usually have a plastic "window" through which the infrared energy can enter. Despite often being only translucent to visible light, infrared energy is able to reach the sensor through the window because the plastic used is transparent to infrared radiation. The plastic window reduces the chance of foreign objects (dust, insects, rain, etc.) from obscuring the sensor's field of view, damaging the mechanism, and/or causing false alarms. The window may be used as a filter, to limit the wavelengths to 8-14 micrometres, which is closest to the infrared radiation emitted by humans. It may also serve as a focusing mechanism; see below.

It is also recommended that the PIR not be placed in such a position that an HVAC vent would blow hot or cold air onto the surface of the plastic which covers the housing's window. Although air has very low emissivity (emits very small amounts of infrared energy), the air blowing on the plastic window cover could change the plastic's temperature enough to trigger a false alarm. item specification -- distance: 2~12 meters (adjustable); detection angle: ≤160°; time-delay: 5sec~10min(adjustable); recommended installation height: 1.5~4m. wire connection instruction: brown wire: live input, red wire: live output, blue wire: common neutral. All objects with a temperature above absolute zero emit heat energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation. Usually this radiation isn't visible to the human eye because it radiates at infrared wavelengths, but it can be detected by electronic devices designed for such a purpose. At a basic level, PIR sensors operate using positive differential change. Two IR-sensitive slots sit in front of the lens, with their field of “vision” determining the range of detection. While ‘idle’, the ambient level of infrared detected in the room (naturally emitted by all objects) is the same on both slots. The minute an object, person or animal moves through the detecting area, it is sensed by one of the slots before the other, causing a positive differential as it passes by, and a negative differential change as it leaves the area. PIR sensors, at their most fundamental level, work by detecting positive differential change. Two infrared-sensitive slots are located in front of the lens, and the range of detection is determined by the slots’ field of “vision”. While both slots are ‘idle’, the ambient amount of infrared sensed in the room (which is naturally emitted by all items) is the same on both slots while they are ‘active’. When an object, person, or animal moves through the detecting region, it is sensed by one of the slots before the other, creating a positive differential change as it passes through and a negative differential change as it exits.

Many false alarms will be caused by the placement of the alarm and sensors rather than the cost or quality of the alarm. This means that when installing wireless motion detector alarms, you should arrange them in places that maximise their efficiency while minimising false warnings. Time-delay is added continually: when it receives the second induction signals after the first induction, it will compute time once more on the rest of the first time-delay basic (set time). time-delay adjustment: it can be set according to the consumer’s desire. the minimum time is 10sec±3sec. the maximum is 7min±2min. A passive infrared sensor detects the infrared light emitted by a warm object using passive infrared technology. Can identify day and night: the consumer can adjust work ambient light. it can work in the daytime and at night when it is adjusted on the “sun” position (max). it can work in the ambient light less than 10lux when it is adjusted on the “moon” position (min). as for the adjustment pattern, please refer to the testing pattern.

PIR sensor-based alarms can be designed to ignore certain shapes of moving objects, or only detect motion above a certain height. This makes them suitable for households that have pets, allowing you to set the alarm before leaving the house in the day without worrying that it will be triggered by your cat or dog moving about.

PIR (passive infrared) sensors utilise the detection of infrared that is radiated from all objects that emit heat. This type of emission is not visible to the human eye, but sensors that operate using infrared wavelengths can detect such activity. They are sometimes referred to as ‘motion-based detectors’, as they sense the presence of people, animals and objects through the movement of their infrared wavelengths. The PIR sensor is typically mounted on a printed circuit board containing the necessary electronics required to interpret the signals from the sensor itself. The complete assembly is usually contained within a housing, mounted in a location where the sensor can cover the area to be monitored. One of the most successful to date is the PIR sensor method found in many of the burglar alarm systems installed in domestic and commercial properties alike. But what is a PIR Sensor? And what makes them so effective? What is a PIR Sensor? Avoid installing sensors near radiators and air vents, for example, as temperature changes could impact reliability or result in a false alarm Common installation locations include ceiling or wall mounting as these tend to provide a clear, unimpeded view of the detection area. They may also be installed alongside wall lights, for example, in automatic lighting applications.

motion sensor outdoor -- the pir sensor adopts infrared body motion induction technology, which can achieve intelligent control and energy saving. recommended that the product is installed by professional electrician.Sensors are also often designed to "ignore" domestic pets, such as dogs or cats, by setting a higher sensitivity threshold, or by ensuring that the floor of the room remains out of focus. Once the PIR sensor detects movement an alert is sent to the alarm panel which activates the alarm. It is critical to completely enclose the PIR sensor itself with a material that can reduce the effects of external temperature and humidity, such as metals like silicon. The benefits of PIR Designs have been implemented in which a PIR circuit measures the temperature of a remote object. [6] In such a circuit, a non-differential PIR output is used. The output signal is evaluated according to a calibration for the IR spectrum of a specific type of matter to be observed. By this means, relatively accurate and precise temperature measurements may be obtained remotely. Without calibration to the type of material being observed, a PIR thermometer device is able to measure changes in IR emission which correspond directly to temperature changes, but the actual temperature values cannot be calculated. Radiation is produced by all objects that have a temperature greater than absolute zero. This energy is expressed in the form of heat energy. Because heat radiates as infrared wavelengths, much of this radiation is not visible to the human eye, however it can be detected by electronic instruments that have been specifically constructed for this purpose.
