Description

Within one week of implementing your feeding and sleeping suggestions and your stay and support method we could see huge changes in our little boy. We did get to a point where he settled himself before but we went backwards when he moved into his own room. it seemed to work so much better as she was all chirpy and happy through the routine, only getting yawny towards the end, and that seems a better environment for learning the skills.

I’m happy to dot in with any thoughts once you’re doing it if you do give it a go, I’m sure there will be others too and I really found the support helpful. Sometimes the distraction techniques worked wonders, other times it just took a lot of persistence with them to calm him down. I was really nervous when I rang Lucy at the start, I felt like she would think I was a bad mother for not being able to cope. I regularly found myself distracted and unusually, didn’t bother rewinding as I was happy to have undoubtedly avoided some other repeated advice. Trying hard not to start feeding to sleep again as I feel like we've come so far and her night sleep has really improved! He never would feed or rock to sleep and used to scream a lot if kept up too long so I did have him in quite a strict routine but he was difficult to put down for a long time.

I could find myself up to her during the night so much that I used to end up sleeping on the floor beside the cot as it was just easier that up and down all night ! Suddenly she refused to go to bed, crying for hours until she was inconsolable and completely exhausted (10pm) - would not stay in her cot through the night (climbing into our bed from 1am onwards every night). With this in mind, Lucy Wolfe has developed a ‘stay-and-support’ approach, which has helped thousands of parents and babies around the world achieve better sleep. Got my 6 month old into a routine who started to wake up during the night after 6 months of sleeping through the night. By helping parents understand their child's sleep science and common tendencies in the first three years, Lucy shows parents how to introduce and maintain a gentle approach tha

Once I started following her recommendations I immediately saw an improvement in both sleep and how happy my baby was. Tonight's night one of trying and she's currently screaming the house down with my dh upstairs, have taken the dog for a walk to escape for a bit. Lucy’s unique ‘stay and support’ approach is a twofold sleep strategy which combines biological time keeping and gentle support to develop positive sleeping habits. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

She is the head of Sleep Matters Help Your Child Sleep, where she has many years’ experience and a proven track record in helping babies and children learn to sleep more soundly. Anybody used Lucy Wolfe Iv used her books for both my kids worked on first little boy but did take until he was a year until I got him on routine, tried to set a routine out for my now 9 month old at about 3/4 month and use the book, I feel like I follow I suppose as much as possible not every step but he’s still a bloody nightmare at night time he’s waking numerous times a night and then is awake anywhere between 4am - 5am for the day, problem is he’s waking my 3 year old who I just made drop his nap because Creche weren’t giving him his nap anymore and I just thought it wasn’t fair to make him nap when he’s at home, but now he has no nap and baby is waking him at 5am and then obviously baby is cranky by 6. I think we have been quite strict with it for the past 2 weeks at least but we've also been lucky that when he has got upset he's responded well to the stay and support and there haven't been too many times where he's got very upset.I decided I’m not feeding him before 11 so any wake ups before that I’ll rock him in the hope it will make him not bother waking as he’s not getting food. It was mainly because the put downs were so unpredictable, sometimes she’d cry for ages, other times not at all. There's a World of books to choose from such as: Children's Books, Range includes Baby Books (0-3), Books for Toddlers (3-5), Early Readers (5-7), Childrens Story books (7-11), Young Teens (11-14), Young Adults (14-16) and Childrens Educational Books. But even with the best routine things can go awry, so in this book Lucy addresses in detail the most common problems that undermine your efforts: short naps, feeding associations at bedtime, early rising and much more. Just wondering if anyone has used it or if about to start maybe we could use this as a support thread haha.
