These people are so hopeless, I feel so embarassed for them. overall, this was a good read and the amount of humor was something i didn't expect going in yet was pleasantly surprised by but i don't think it's anything 'all time fav' worthy, at least personally. i'd still recommend tho!

I wish we had some previous recent relationship/sexual history, but… eh… I’m gonna assume he’s been celibate and I’ll call it a day 🤣. Savage Hearts is the third book in the Queens & Monsters series. It's about Riley Keller (h), she is Sloane's little sister (the h from Carnal Urges), and Malek Antonov (H). Since the story continues right where Carnal Urges left off and has Declan and Kage's POV (Hs of previous books) too, I don't think this book works as a standalone. If you love a sizzling hot mafia romance with an uber alpha to die for and a sassy and strong willed heroine to challenge him at every turn, welcome to your next addiction. This book was all of the things! I cannot recommend it enough. I'm usually not someone who ask for a lot of angst, but here I needed something. Everything went too well for Sloane and Declan. Even near the end when Sloane got taken away, it wasn't like Sloane and Declan broke up or anything. They pretty much worked well together to defeat the enemy, but I just wanted them to fight or something. 🏃🏻‍♀️The banter between these two is amazing and hilarious! I laughed out loud so many times. But underneath all the snark something else was brewing. A chemistry so hot it was only a matter of time before it blew. They were made for each other. Sloane has never given her heart to anyone. Her body, yes, but never her heart. She has her reasons and when she finally reveals them, it’s heartbreaking. Declan became her strength. With him she could just be, could let him take over and protect her. It’s something she’s never done before but with him, for the first time, something bigger feels possible.

I'm weird like that, but I'm counting how long it takes until the main characters meet and interact for the first time. That's why I know it took 15% til Riley and Malek interact. It doesn't sound that long, but it felt like forever. Idk if that's the reason why their romance was just 'okay', but I still liked some of their earlier banter.
