Hair removal can also irritate your skin, leading to skin infections such as cellulitis and folliculitis.

So she turns to women all around the country...women with different stories, all separated by time, space, upbringing and personal history, but all connected by two similarities: their awareness of their own womanhood and the l Alice Vincent is a journalist and the author of three books, including Rootbound: Rewilding a Life, which was longlisted for the Wainwright Prize and named as one of the books of 2020 by the Financial Times and the Independent. A self-taught gardener, Alice is a columnist for Gardens Illustrated and writes for titles including Vogue and the New Statesman. She has been documenting her gardening online since 2015 and has since launched a newsletter and podcast. She lives in South London. We hear a little of Alice’s own muse, the balcony garden plants that allowed her passion to flourish, and a few of the moving stories from her book with such poignance. When I wanted to know why women turned to the earth, I thought about some of the reasons. I thought about grief and retreat. I thought about motherhood and creativity. I also thought about the ground as a place of political change, of the inherent politics of what it is to be a woman, to be in a body that has been othered, dismissed and fetishised for millennia. I thought about the women who see the earth as an opportunity for progress and protest. Alice Vincent goes beyond the surface level of gardening, offering rich and intimate conversations with a variety of inspiring guests, including designers, chefs, entrepreneurs, and writers. Each episode of Why Women Grow features discussions about resistance, spirituality, motherhood, and more, offering new perspectives on our interactions with nature. Guests include writer Claire Ratinon, designer Margaret Howell, chef Rukmini Iyer, and environmentalist Poppy Okotcha, to name a few. Inspired by her book of the same name, “Why Women Grow: Stories of Soil, Sisterhood, and Survival”, Alice Vincent’s podcast will challenge you to think differently about what it means to grow, both in the garden and in life. Another reason as to why there has been an increase in female facial hair growth is because of its portrayal in pop culture lately. Many celebrities like Miley Cyrus have made headlines for sporting full beards on red carpets, which has helped girls realize that they too can grow a beard if they want to. Many women start growing facial hair when they’re going through a hormonal change. When estrogen levels are low, it can cause the growth of facial hair. This is especially common during pregnancy and when taking birth control pills for the first time. Sometimes, this type of hormonal change will even trigger acne breakouts or other skin problems that cause unwanted hair growth.

We are delighted to be hosting the official launch of garden writer Alice Vincent’s new book ‘Why Women Grow’, a major narrative exploration of the relationship between women and the soil. Ahead of the event on Tues 28 February, here is an exclusive extract from the book: For cost savings, you can change your plan at any time online in the “Settings & Account” section. As with boils, abscesses tend to develop from irritation caused by certain hair removal methods, such as shaving or waxing. Women who suffer from excessive facial hair may want to consider taking an herbal supplement. Many vitamins and minerals have properties that can prevent facial hair growth. In addition, they can help prevent the production of prolactin, a hormone that can lead to excessive growth. This hormone can contribute to facial hair growth in women. Women can obtain this vitamin through natural food sources and oral supplements. These products can help prevent facial hair growth and are natural treatments that can be highly effective. These rich and intimate conversations offer new perspectives on our interactions with nature' - The FT
