ANDY'S CACTUS is the iconic Gufram coat hanger made in a limited edition with The Andy Warhol Foundation of Visual Art, available in blue, pink and yellow.‎

Cactus is the icon of Italian design that has revolutionized the domestic landscape.‎ Made of flexible polyurethane this hall tree with four cantilever arms is as tall as a person and looks like an ironic totem.‎ It is a part of permanent collections in important international museums such as MUDE in Lisbon, ADAM in Brussels and Fondation Beyeler in Basel.‎

It was created in 1972 and since then it is made and painted by hand.‎ Over the years Cactus has been produced in several colours for as many limited and numbered editions on exhibit in the most important museums in the world.‎ It's original function is that of a hall tree (it should be assumed, by not everybody knows about it.‎.‎.‎).‎ Produced in 1986, nr 494 / 2000, only used as decoration, very well conserved! This green is the most authentic green, even different, more beautiful green, as the earlier, also very beautiful sold and by me in Paris delivered green cactus.

Just like the other CACTUS versions, the ANDY WARHOL x GUFRAM edition, presented on the 50 year anniversary of the world-recognised hall tree, is made from the original 1972 mould, and sculpted and hand finished by specialised artisans, making each piece unique.‎ The 2,165 polyurethane bosses (give or take a few) that characterise the surface are then painted with Guflac, Gufram’s patented paint that makes the surface look like leather, while still allowing it to remain flexible and soft.‎
