Description

Anti-wear agent forms a self-generating protective surface between metal engine parts to prevent metals from grating together. It is touted as being "a super-suspension of micro-miniature PTFE particles and soluble Molybdenum, permanently suspended in oil." He tends to run shed cars as well as Skylines/Range rovers and says it works wonders in something with high miles that you don't plan on looking after, you just want it to run quietly and smoothly.

This treatment can be added directly to your engine oil, for engines up to 1400cc. It is suitable against friction and heat over successive oil changes, during tough stop-go driving, high temperature and high stress conditions. Features & Benefits: My own experience is that you should use a good oil (you cite fully synth) and change it according to HJs recommendations. As an example, my own car is a 97 Rover 820 Vitesse Sport. This is the later 200bhp version with 17 inch alloys and proper suspension, not the feeble original 180bhp Vitesse turbo. It is just a few dozen miles short of 130k now. I bought it from the previous owner with 88k up. like me he is a car nut and looks after his cars well. Also like me he's an ex-motorsport driver and drives "enthusiastically". The car has been run on Mobil 1 or GTX Magnatec under the previous owner and on Halfords FS by me. Believe me when I say this car is as clean inside the cam covers as the day it was bought new. It also drives like new - at a Revs sponsored event I managed 30-70 in 6.6 secs, 'book' is 6.8 secs!!! i run it on Tesco fuel all the time. Proprietary friction modifier creates enhanced layer of lubrication to minimize heat produced by friction in the engine A number of ?add-on? additives intended to improve the performance of commercially available automotive lubricants have been marketed in recent years, under such names as ?Xxtralube ZX-1?, ?Metol FX-1?, ?PPL Anti-Friction? and ?Activ-8?.All such products share the following characteristics with ?X-1R Friction Eliminator?:- They all contain chlorinated paraffin ?exteme pressure?(EP) compounds first used in the 1930s in heavily-loaded industrial gearboxes, and in some automotive transmission applications, mainly hypoid gears.Disclaimer: I am not an engineer, there's a lot of s t posted on internet forums by people who actually know nothing about the subject.I concur. The Federal Trade Commission have come down hard on additive companies making false advertising claims. Suitable for use where the following specifications are called for : Mitsubishi PS Fluid, Mitsubishi Diamond SP IN, Nissan PSF-11, Acura P/N 08206-9002A, Chrysler MS-1872, Chrysler MS-5931, P/N-04883077, Chrysler MS-9602, ATF+4, Chrysler MS-10838, P/N 05142893AA, Ford M2C195-A, GM P/N 89021184, GM 9985010, P/N 1052884, GM 9985835, Hyundai/Kia PSF-3, Hyundai/Kia PSF-4, Mercedes Benz 236.3, P/N 000 989 88 03, Pentosin CHF 7.1, Pentosin CHF 11S, Pentosin CHF 202, Saab P/N (45) 30 09 800, Subaru P/N KO209A0080, Toyota PSF Type EH, P/N 008886-01, ZF TE-ML 09

I recently started a large thread regarding the fact that I loved my 'shed car' (1997 Polo 1.6), but ever since I got the Polo it has had a little bit of a noisy engine. Slightly 'tappety' and clattery. When burnt, chlorinated paraffins produce corrosive hydrochloric acid, and organo-chlorine compounds including the highly poisonous phosgene gas. Apart from these corrosion and health hazards, with petrol engines the deactivation of exhaust catalysts is also a problem. No, we do not recommend this as the treatment is designed to mix with manual fluids. Unfortunately we no longer supply an Automatic Gearbox Treatment. Yes, the product has been used in many vehicles over many years with hydraulic tappets with no negative effects. I asked a chemist recently who had tested many of these products and this was the reply I recieved - scary stuff! Unfortunately, these additives give spectacular results in simple EP test machines such as the ?Falex?. As a marketing ploy, a demonstration of this type looks impressive to those not aquainted with the above facts. Also attractive is the low cost of chlorinated compounds, allowing profits of several thousand percent to be made.

The product contains an agent, which will condition seals (thus prolonging seal life) and cause them to swell slightly) thus fixing any minor leaks coming through the seals). It will not fix major seal leaks or any leaks coming through holes caused by puncture or erosion. It is not capable of fixing mechanical malfunctions. This is around 3 years, however it will be safe to use if older than 3 years old, but may not perform to its full potential. Dizzy, what I was trying to say was that the engine was regularly thrashed, and after 104,000 miles it still ran sweet as a nut and used very little oil between services (never needed to top it up). It was only a 1300cc, and had no 5th gear, so when in top gear (4th) the engine was revving higher than a newer model Astra with the 5th gear. I remember driving along the M40 from High Wycombe to Oxford late one night, and driving down the steep hill at one point on the M40, the Astra topped 120mph on the speedo and the revs were almost in the red! Dispersant helps keep engine clean by preventing the build-up of sludge and deposits on engine parts. If your engine is 'tappety' then putting something 'gloopy' in there may quieten it down, but something else will suffer, possibly the oil pump in having to shift treacle. Hiding the symptoms of any problem, does nothing to fix the problem. This enhanced semi-synthetic engine oil meets API SM/CF requirements to better ensure your oil change is NOT diluted. How is it then, that adding something out of a can; on the basis of a large can for large engine, and small can for a small engine, and with no change in dosage if you have Sainsbury's cheapest or Mobil1 fully synthetic, possibly be a good idea?

Both Products can be used in any car with beneficial results. However, you will achieve optimum results by using the High Performance treatment in cars using fully or semi synthetic oils, and the Normal treatment in cars using mineral oils.

My car has a manual gearbox, but uses Automatic transmission fluid; can I use the Manual Gearbox Treatment? X-1R Friction Eliminator and its clones are based upon very outdated technology, which was abandoned by responsible lubricant manufacturers for automotive transmission uses in the 1950s. Chlorinated compounds still find applications in metal working, but their use is on the decline because of health and safety considerations. Proprietary friction modifier creates enhanced layer of lubrication to minimize heat produced by friction in the engine.
