I'm up to date with my vaccinations (according to the CDC's guidelines), and if cases remain low, then I'm going for it! Masks are required in the studio, and to secure an appointment with me, it is necessary that you are also up to date with your vaccinations (and provide proof). Instead of a flat, pierceable surface, many men have a cordlike web in the center of the area where the Prince Albert is worn. In this case, the piercing can sometimes be set a little further down the shaft, or, more commonly, slightly off to one side. The web should be avoided because penetrating it makes an unstable, uncomfortable PA and tends to result in little flaps of cut tissue. If the skin is not webbed, then the piercing can safely go right in the center (if no visible blood vessels are present). Sometimes PAs are placed unnecessarily off to the side, probably for the same reason that a lot of so-called “pros” don’t pierce the midline under the tongue: poor training.

Also, we should consider what the Old Testament Law had to say about the related issue of cutting the flesh and marking the body. The command to Israel was “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28). It seems the common practice among the nations surrounding Israel was to cut, lance, or somehow scar the body “for the dead”; that is, cutting oneself was part of a pagan mourning ritual or possibly a superstitious rite to aid the spirits of the departed. We see this type of behavior in action in Elijah’s day, as Baal-worshipers “slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed” (1 Kings 18:28). It is safe to say that, if a certain body piercing hints at paganism or honors a false philosophy, then it is sinful.

I'm pretty confident that my two Pfizer doses should protect me against severe disease and death, but vaccine effectiveness is lower against the Delta variant, plus immunity has been shown to wane over time. Additionally, I'm in the over-60 age group, which statistically has had more severe outcomes. Further, some research shows that long COVID is still possible in vaccinated individuals. Piercing expert Elayne Angel has performed over 50,000 piercings since the 1980s and has pioneered many placements, including tongue piercing and the triangle, lorum, and other genital piercings. Her authoritative and groundbreaking guidebook has been the definitive resource on body piercing since its publication in 2009. As of September 2022, I reached a difficult decision to discontinue countrywide touring and to pierce only out of Detroit, MI for the foreseeable future. There are a number of reasons for this change, but I won't be going into all of the details. Where do I draw the line? According to Guinness World Records, the record for total body piercings is 453 (male) and 462 (female). Those considering multiple piercings should be able to answer the question “how much is too much?” with specificity. At what point does body modification become extreme? How far can Christians go and still “honor God with your bodies” (1 Corinthians 6:20)? Beyond piercings, questions should be asked about scarification, branding, facial flesh tunnels, skin implants, split tongues, pointed ears, sharpened teeth, and other things promoted within the modern bodymod community. What is my motivation for getting a body piercing? Our motives are important in any decision we make (Proverbs 16:2), especially something as permanent and potentially life-changing as a body piercing.

You need not become erect during the procedure because your piercer can get a measurement for the jewelry diameter by simply pulling on the skin near the end of your penis between the spot for the piercing and the tip of your urethra. How to become a piercer, piercing throughout history and in modern culture, and the future of body piercingI’ve performed over 50,000 piercings since beginning my career as a professional in the 1980s, when I managed Gauntlet, the first piercing specialty studio in the United States. I’m the author of The Piercing Bible: The Definitive Guide to Safe Body Piercing, the first comprehensive mainstream reference book on the subject. It was written for everyone with an interest in the subject (consumers, piercers, apprentices, medical professionals, parents, coaches, etc.).

I’ve come to a painful and difficult decision: I do not plan to travel until an effective vaccine against COVID-19 has been widely distributed (or possibly, if there’s much-improved treatment). I’ll be 60 years old in August, and though in good health, I’m more risk-averse than I might appear (being covered in tattoos and piercings).

I am known as a pioneer in the field for innovating techniques, aftercare, and piercing placements. I am credited (by Jim Ward in his book, " Running the Gauntlet," BMEzine, Pain Magazine, and others) with the popularity of the tongue piercing; and inventing, naming, and popularizing a number of specific piercing placements including the fourchette, and lorum. I also perfected and popularized the triangle piercing.

I saw that two planes containing a total of 600 people were tested upon arrival at their destination, and 61 passengers were covid positive! That's more than 10% of the other people sitting with you on the plane who are infected--and infectious! This does not inspire me to want to travel....There is one specific verse in the Old Testament which uses the Hebrew word, “lachash,” which is a word specifically associated with witchcraft. Here, the jewelry is used as an amulet to cast a spell. Many people are unaware of the elevated risks of getting pierced at a mall kiosk, by an untrained tattoo artist, or by a novice piercer; a skilled professional is necessary for safety and optimal results, whether piercing the ear, nose, or elsewhere. This revised and expanded edition is the only comprehensive reference book available to help you navigate the entire piercing process. It contains new illustrations, diagrams, and photos, along with fully updated information, including:
