I enjoyed this book very much, it is exciting and bold. The only problem is, I got very attached to the story, so naturally, after I was finished, I still wanted more.

With his new clients, money and expensive presents aren’t the only thing to threaten Ben’s integrity: obviously the rich clients expect sex in addition to the massages Ben signed up to give them. Working double shifts for minimum wage at a care home for boys with learning disabilities, Ben Foster and his young family are ground down by poverty and debt. He said while the core story of the book is true, he admitted that some details had been "embellished" by the ghost writer to make it more entertaining - particularly that he was married at the time.Jim Perkins, 44 from Bradwell aka Ben Foster has spoken about his life as a gigolo. Picture: Neil Didsbury (Image: Archant) It was there, while working as a sports therapist at the age of 24, that he claims he was introduced to a high-society group. I could smell her perfume. It was light and airy, a scent I didn’t know, and seemed personal to her. She was so beautiful, I couldn’t bear to look at her.”

Ben does seem to grow from his experiences. He thinks about class differences, and the perils of being limited by one’s “station in life” or labeling oneself as “people like us” vs. the rich. As his fortune rises, and he provides more for his family, even his sweet, unassuming wife begins to change and see a future for herself. Ben weighs it all and concludes that it’s ok to try to improve yourself. Ben Foster works double shifts for minimum wage at a care home for boys with learning disabilities. With a young wife and three children under the age of five, he is ground down by poverty and debt. And what man wouldn’t be tempted by these gorgeous, experienced women who show him a world where sex is as sophisticated, daring and rich as the lives his new partners live. So, he has to lie to his wife to keep up the pretence about his new profession and choices are made that make us share the dilemma if by selling his services and his body, Ben will end up losing his soul and everything else he held dear before being caught in this whirlwind of wealth and opportunities. Gigolo: Inside the Secret World of the Super Rich. Author:Clifford Thurlow, Ben Foster with. Product Details World of Books Ltd was founded in 2005, recycling books sold to us through charities either directly or indirectly.Wow! Gigolo was an interesting read and look into the life of the rich and someone just wanting to provide for his family and where that all intersects. You just cant help liking Ben Foster even though you are surprised what he is willing to do considering his normal life. He just seemed like a guy who wasn't a jerk or had any intentional plans...he basically fell into situations and just didn't say no. In Gigolo: Inside the secret world of the Super Rich, Clifford Thurlow takes us on a thrilling Rolls Royce ride into the seedy upper echelons of English society. As a well paid gigolo, Ben’s bank account swells and he acquires a taste for the good life, while his wife, Kelly, is both suspicious that Ben provides more than just massage to his wealthy patrons and is being drawn into a world that will eventually destroy him. And she’s right.

But there is a poignant sting in the tale too, because nothing lasts forever. The funny thing is even while Ben is giving Olympic gold medal-standard performances, you still worry about his welfare. And the fact that there is a financial crash on the horizon only sharpens the feeling of fear and trembling. The prose is rich and flows amazingly well, taking us with Ben and making us feel the weight of his choices.Gigolo is an entertaining romp, supposedly the story of Ben Foster,a care worker and part time masseur catapulted into the world of servicing rich and famous women for money. I say supposedly as while perhaps Mr Foster did once work as a Gigolo parts of the tale are highly unlikely, not least his lovely wife barely batting an eyelid as new cars and a whole new wardrobe of designer clothes appear, hubby fails to come home from work etc after a life of scraping by. The sex scenes are more titillating than pornographic with a variety of "interests" portrayed, seemingly with a variety of well-known public figures. So our protagonist finds himself propelled in a world where houses don’t have postcodes, where your services are rewarded with the agreed upon fee but you might happen to get a brand new car. I personally thought this would be my life for the rest of it, this was it. But in their mind they wanted to have a bit of fun and I was their piece of meat." Two performances stood out for me - Bale and Ben Foster (Charlie Prince). Crowe was good, but it's not clear that he engaged with his role with his usual intensity. There are several very talented actors in supporting roles, and they each pull off the transition to the western genre quite nicely (Alan Tudyk, Logan Lerman, Gretchen Mol, Peter Fonda and others). The film showcases the acting talent very well without losing sight of its straightforward but interesting story.
