This advent calendar provided a good mix of new minifigures and minifigures from expensive sets making it an inexpensive way to build up your Harry Potter line of minifigures. Kids can combine the 24 advent calendar gifts to recreate favorite scenes from the Harry Potter movies and role-play stories and adventures of their own. At the time of writing this review, this set is 30% off in Europe directly from LEGO, and sold out entirely in North America.

In the end I concluded it might just be one of the decorative bottles displayed on the table at the yule ball (Google: yule ball drinks/table). The Gryffindor present is especially clever, as it suggests that some lucky wizard or witch is getting a brand new broomstick this Christmas! The figure is however exactly the same as in the Hogwarts Clock tower set, which is somewhat disappointing, though I don’t mind having an extra copy – as I often have multiple Christmas displays. Elf with bow – Since micro-dolls were new for 2020 and have only been available in the Disney theme up until now, this is a great introduction of micro-dolls into the Friends theme.

Next up we get a mundane little counter for Honeyduke's, though the Bertie Botts 1x1 brick is always welcome. The extensive range of LEGO Harry Potter models and playsets provide fans of the series with endless imaginative fun and creative display possibilities. Only the Mic Stand has been a little forgettable, and I think the combination builds (Wall + Fireplace, and Banquet Tables) which work to create larger more substantial models. There are also a few good ideas for micro builds, but too many of them I looked at and felt “ehh” about although there were at least no weapons stand again this year.

This trend was the same in previous year’s advent calendar and calendars of other themes having mostly recurring figures with a few unique figures.
