You use a tool (supplied) to push the Stix into the cutting machine. You DO NOT need to use tiny fingers to do this! The jewellery can also be stored inside the cute jewellery compact that comes complete with mirror.

Once the Stix are in place, you simply press down to cut and they pop out the other end.
