If adding butter cream, gradually whisk the icing sugar into the butter until smooth and creamy. Stir through the vanilla extract. Turn over the whole heart shapes so that the smooth part is on the outside. Add ½ teaspoon of apricot jam in the centre and carefully spread towards the outside edge of the biscuit. Leave a gap to allow for further spreading when you add the top biscuit. Add the flour, cornflour, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix everything together to form a smooth firm dough.
