In 1984, Chopra brought Ayurvedic medicine to the United States, and within a year he established the Ayurvedic Health Centre of Stress Management and Behavioral Medicine in Lancaster, Massachusetts. I figure that if someone can help their body get rid of aggressive lung or brain cancer, I could certainly help my body get rid of plantar fasciitis! This was my first experience reading a book of Deepak Chopra's and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. D., is the author of more than eighty books, translated into more than forty-three languages, including numerous New York Times bestsellers.

In high-school physics the most important quanta are given names, the two most important being the photon as the carrier of light and the electron, which produces electricity. You have such a gift of explaining difficult materials in a very simple way so we all can get benefit. There are parts that I think some people could find "wooey" but if you suspend disbelief in those few moments I really feel there is a lot to be gained from this book in an understanding of how we can be active agents in aiding our own health and recovery from disease. I only wish it had been longer, which is why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 It touches on one's ability for self-healing, but could go into even more detail with more stories for an even longer book. He has won numerous awards including a Quill Award for Peace Is the Way and the grand prize at the 2005 Nautilus Book Awards for The Book of Secrets.

He is also the Founder and Director of Education of The Chopra Center of Wellbeing, the "premier provider of experiences, education, teacher trainings, and products that improve the health and well-being of body, mind, and spirit. The book is a good read and I am enjoying reading it, but as I turn to the next page some of them just drop out. Part Two: “Lifelong Well-Being” applies the quantum model to get past the stall that current models have reached. But Chopra offers an explanation of quantum physics that I was actually able to understand, to the best of my limited abilities. Chopra explores the frontiers of the mind/body with the knowledge and limitations of today's medical world and the world of physics, as well as the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda.

Even though I had read numerous books on energy healing systems in the past from other authors; nevertheless, I really learned a lot of interesting practical facts and information from the Dr. Moreover, pseudosciences are claims that still require evidence, while science is primarily based on looking for evidence to disprove a claim that already holds truth. For anyone who has experienced the limitations of modern medicine, this is a great exploration of what where medicine finishes and the power of spirituality and the quantum universe picks up. I believe this old book, while outdated in some of its "cutting edge" revelations, is still every bit as relevant today. Again, brainwaves are the result of quantum mechanical interactions just as everything in the universe is if one looks at a small enough scale.

Chopra states that much of his time is spent talking, trying to get people not to be so convinced by their disease. This revolutionary approach to wellness creates and delivers relaxing soundscapes optimized for helping listeners fall asleep. It was a blessing I felt keenly as I read these true stories of disease, death, and miraculous recovery. Right now, the quality of that attention is fearful and tense, which is why we aren't getting better, as soon as your awareness becomes settled and Loses its fear, your body will recover.
