Description

I have found so many quotes and facts that resonate so personally which makes it even more enjoyable to read. I speak to the truly inspiring Hayley from @so.thirty on my IGTV series. She opens up about her diagnosis at a young age and how that contributed to her drinking heavily on nights out and using alcohol as a way to forget about the truth that she had to face. Not only has giving up alcohol been transformational for her own health but also in her career. Listen in as we speak with the only sober recruitment consultant on the planet (probably!). Full Book Name: Sober On A Drunk Planet: Giving Up Alcohol. The Unexpected Shortcut to Finding Happiness, Health and Financial Freedom I just wanted to celebrate the fact that I have got my first business loan approved after going through debt relief in 2016. Something that at the time, I couldn't see past, but the last 4.5 years have been incredibly challenging from a financial perspective as it's a daily reminder of my troubled past.

Why your bank balance will thank you for cutting out alcohol (and it reaches far beyond the money you'll save) The most relatable and easy to understand, motivational book I have had the pleasure of reading today.... (In just one sitting too) The Sober On A Drunk Planet podcast follows the success of the book Sober On A Drunk Planet Book and Audio Series. Here we talk to amazing guests about their battles with alcohol and other drugs and how getting sober allowed them to live a life unimaginable when they were drunk or high (or both!). We also discuss yoga teacher training, breathing techniques and we also do a live breathing technique you can use when you need to calm the flight or fight system down :) I speak with Jamie from Problem Gambling NI about his battle with gambling addiction, attending Gamblers anonymous meetings and his road to recovery. What are the most mind-blowing transformations from giving up alcohol that everyone should know about? And why everyone can benefit from sobriety - whether you're a binge drinker, social drinker or everyday drinker.

I speak with Zach about running a multi-million-pound business, losing it to addiction and coming to terms with childhood trauma. We speak about his upbringing and how that shaped his addictive nature from an early age.

Was helpful as an inspiring story of how the author turned his life around and enjoyed the conversational tone of the book. If the idea of giving up alcohol sounds like a sacrifice, think about what you're giving up instead. Quality sleep… Time lost to hangovers… Money you could have used to transform your life… This week's guest is Leo, a DJ with his own record label, who has navigated life in hard mode and now chooses to stay sober so he can make the most of his life. We talk about life as a Dj, sober festivals and what he has learnt from previous sober attempts. Highly recommended this book to everyone on this journey. Its so relatable especially for your sobriety journey - whatever stage you are at. Alcohol is the one drug, that if we have too much of it we are shamed for our behaviour, but if we decide not to drink, we are classed as boring. We live on a drunk planet.

I talk about my addiction to alcohol, drugs and gambling in a particularly dark time for me when I was 28 and how rehab saved my life. I talk about my experience of going to Alcoholics anonymous and doing the 12 step programme. I also talk about how I feel out of favour with the programme and found sobriety connection in other ways. I hope the podcasts provide hope and inspiration for people that listen as I know the biggest thing that made me realise I needed help was listening to addicts and relating to their former lives.I have a chat with Megan about her battle with the booze and how sobriety has helped her mental health. We talk openly about suicidal thoughts and how binge drinking led to crippling anxiety and depression.
