Skyler Mason Aww that makes me so happy that you love the characters. I love them too, flaws and all! Because it's so easy to say that these characters have undeniable chemistry, and state that they're attracted to each other, but I wanted to SEE it. Literally. Now you just have to prepare yourself for all the harassment you’re going to get from frat guys.”

The book started off at a point where the characters had pretty much independently been in love with each other, throughout the entirety of their childhood- but we didn't get to see ANY of that. This book follows Mari. Mari has been an atheist still keeping up her religious facade for her family while being true to who she is on the inside. And Brandon, the born-again Preacher of her church. Just because someone is a virgin and doesn't have any sexual experience doesn't mean they're fragile glass. I received ARC for this book and hoped for a lot of possessive moments... i end up DNF, because i just could not go further. I skimmed to sex scene and even after that i was like.. nope.

Until they share this kiss that makes the entire world stand still, and Livvy begins wondering, maybe she’s misread him this whole time. I just cannot read books where H becomes sappy, beta man who is fine that the girl he loves dates other men ( she implied What if.. after leaving him). I know people are different and reactions, values and morals varies in culture, countries and in people general but I personally want to read about man who says I can give you time but we will end up together and I will beat up any man who you plan to date. We get lots of ‘youre mine’, desire, cravings, lust.. the sexual chemistry was 👌🏼 were also given a lot of praise kink and a little daddy too 😜 I looked past the manwhore/virgin combo bc the author was saying what a huge grovel it had.....there was literally no grovel. Half the book the heroine is already aware he is manipulative anyways. It just had no tension or stakes. She forgave the one infraction he did that she didn't know about almost immediately. If this was an epic grovel than romance books are dead to me 😂 I’ve been in love with Cole Walker since the first day he walked into class and sat beside me. Who could blame me? Six foot five, gorgeous, and a sweetheart to boot. He’s charming enough to get any girl he wants.

She pulls a Britney and has taktok videos telling people about her experiences and then announces that she's going to dispose of this little hymen in 30 days. to end on the good things, because there were plenty of those too… i thought the discussions on religion were quite interesting. i really like mari!! she has so much empathy and is so ready to meet people where they are at. i have a very similar perspective on religion as mari does, and i think it was interesting to see how she navigated that journey in her community. i feel like there’s a lot to learn from her on how to approach people with different beliefs, regardless of one’s stance on religion. generally in todays climate, i think it’s refreshing to see stories of people with various perspectives interacting in healthy, accepting and productive ways. mari and brandon took time to learn about each other in that way, which is a skill that is super valuable. the importance of respect really shows in their relationship, although i did wish more of that respect extended to mari as a person rather than just her perspective on religion. Until we share a kiss that makes the world stand still, and I begin to wonder…maybe I’ve misread him all along. The story shows Mari trying to traverse between her desires, family, and love of her sister. All while being true to her self. She’s bold, she’s direct, and she’s free. I loved her character in past books but being able to read her story made me love her even more. this book was pretttttyyy hot ngl. pastor brandon really had two different modes: *daddy* and daddy issues. i definitely preferred one over the other.NOT TO MENTION - the way everyone INCLUDING BRANDON think and talk about Mariana?? If I was her I wouldn’t speak to any of them again. She’s 24 years old, brilliant, going to grad school, does everything her family wants (besides religion) and is incredibly sweet and her whole family AND BRANDON act like she’s a literal child who doesn’t understand and doesn’t know what she wants and can’t make decisions for herself. Today, he just made her this offer that she cannot refuse. If she spends the next six months as his fake live-in girlfriend with benefits, he will pay off her whole student loan debt. Lauren should not trust him. Because why on earth would he want ordinary Lauren when could have literally any woman that he wants? It took me a little longer to finished this book then the ones before this one, this is still a great book Heroine is a doormat that says she isn’t but in the end is and the hero is a jerk, he says he is overprotective but he actually just wants her in a little cage all for himself, they even say that point a bunch of times in the book to him and many times by the heroine but it just vanishes by the end? I’ve been in love with Cole Walker since the first day he walked into class and sat beside me. How could I not? Six foot five, gorgeous, and a sweetheart to boot. He’s charming enough to get any girl he wants.

This story could have worked for me...i.e. virginal heroine and manwhore hero who've secretly always loved each other... if the heroine wasn't also the pursuer in the book!!! Early on in the story, she's practically begging him to be the one that takes her virginity. I'm so embarrassed for her honestly. When Brandon called Mariana a “harlot” and “my eager little whore” and claimed he was a sinner because of her, I was done.the way these characters were the trashiest of the trash, but i ate that shit up, cause at this point i need as much drama as possible. Right now I'm releasing the books a year apart because that's …more Aww that makes me so happy that you love the characters. I love them too, flaws and all! while i don’t really have issues with these characters existing, i think the redemption arcs of all of the characters that took complete advantage of mari’s grace were rushed. it didn’t sit right with me that people who treated her without respect (honestly brandon included) were able to finish this story having done the bare minimum to deserve a place in mari’s life. to me, there was not enough action for them to deserve that level of forgiveness, and it sort of felt conflicting with the growth of mari discovering that she is enough as she is. i rarely advocate for longer books, but in this case i would have liked to see a bit more balance between the poor treatment and actions seeking forgiveness. Brandon was conflicted most of the book. I understood where he was coming from in a sense, but I also felt that he was kind of a doormat when it came to Mari's dad. Like dude your a grown man, just tell him no. I did like how obsessed he was with Mari but was not a fan of him waiting for the dad to give his blessing to actually go after her. Look-a-here, look-a-here now. We have a little Daddy Sch-m¡nk and pra!s3, A dash of br33-ding. A smidgen of d3gr-d-t¡on, a former player turned pastor who is 38, 14 years older than she is. We have the makings of a delicious story. A recipe for “Lü-st,” if you will. Ok. I’ll stop. “Lü-st” is my first Skyler Mason book, and I am giddy about it.
