Description

This is provided for reference only and shouldn't be used, as the calibration values vary per individual unit due to manufacturing tolerances, even for the same model.

At maximum extension it’s 170mm which provides a decent 120mm adjustment range for the height adjustment as advertised. This was not actually a major issue in practice, but put some people off considering these early offerings. I have read the experiences of other people who have also RMA'd this product and the discoloration issue still was not resolved after sending it back to ASUS. We don't have an input lag measurement with VRR enabled as there's a bug preventing us from running the test at 144Hz with VRR. Normally I would drop the detail level down in PUBG to maximize the frame rate, but pushing 100FPS for the most part with everything dialed up was nice to see on the XG27UQ. I have a "proper" G-sync monitor with the chip, but it looks like more and more screens are just going with the "compatible" version which doesn't.

ASUS GameVisual gives you seven preset display modes and one user mode tailored to suit different types of content. For productivity, it’s too bright, but for gaming or video, it’s a great way to add punch to the image. Well, I’ve only really tried Dota 2 so far, but man does it get sharp, especially with the game’s FXAA disabled. It has a Black Frame Insertion feature to improve motion clarity, which you can use simultaneously with variable refresh rate. The ASUS XG27UQ has a mediocre contrast ratio, resulting in blacks that look grayish when viewed in a dark room.

There are so many improvements they could easily make for consumers, but they don't because consumers are "content". We have a legitimate interest in using your personal data for marketing purposes (see above ‘How and why we use your personal data’). We are not referring to services that we provide solely on behalf of a third party, such as outsourced IT services we may provide to another company or software licenses from a third party. It provides a smooth and responsive gaming experience thanks to its low input lag, fast response time, and high refresh rate.

The OSD control buttons and joystick are located on the left hand edge at the back (when viewed from behind). This subreddit is for News, Reviews, or high quality discussions related to Monitors and Display Technologies. At the full brightness setting in the OSD the maximum luminance reached a very high 491 cd/m 2 which was a lot higher even than the 400 cd/m 2 max brightness spec from the manufacturer. The screen behaves as it should in this regard, with a reduction in the luminance output of the screen controlled by the reduction in the OSD brightness setting. The Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ is one of the best gaming monitors we’ve tested, but you’ll need to pair it with a very capable PC to see its full capability. ROG Strix XG27UQ comes with TÜV Rheinland-certified ASUS Ultra-low Blue Light filters to protect eyes and prevent strain from harmful blue light.

There is a glowing logo on the back that you can customize (Static Cyan is my recommendation), but it isn’t bright enough to be used as bias lighting, which would’ve been nice. GamePlus hotkey: Lets you access the crosshair and timer features using a hotkey instead of the OSD menu. A legitimate interest is when we have a business or commercial reason to use your personal data, so long as this is not overridden by your own rights and interests. Asus includes Extra Low Motion Blur that runs up to 144 Hz but disables Adaptive-Sync in the process. We have with us now the new Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ which is one of the first displays to be released that makes use of VESA’s new Display Stream Compression (DSC) technology.

IPS glow is present more than on my U2717D, it's slightly stronger, and shows up sooner (as in, from broader angles). The ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQ served me well, with my Intel Core i9-9900K and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti combo doing the CPU and GPU heavy lifting. You can use the Multiframe option in the ASUS DisplayWidget software to display windows side-by-side, but they need to be from the same source, and you can't display images from two sources.
