Book 30 - wowsers! And I think I have actually read the majority - not 100% sure as I started reading them way before book logging and reviewing became a thing in my life. But I have definitely read enough to get the gist of the series arc that continues in this book. No spoilers though...

Patterson has, over almost three decades, built a stellar cast of characters in this series and all he needs to do is concoct plots and situations to challenge those, which he does supremely well in Triple Cross. It is always a pleasure to reconnect with Alex and his friends and family, including the dream grandmother—Nana mama. The new characters, especially NYPD detective Rosella Salazar and fashion designer Phillip Henry Luster—both part of Bree’s story—are well-crafted too and deserve another appearance or two. As usual, Patterson seasons the thrilling tale with the delightful happenings in Alex’s family, from Nana mama’s delectable dinners to the exploits of Alex’s kids—this time the athletic prowess of his daughter Jannie.James Patterson is the gold standard by which all others are judged. STEVE BERRY, bestselling author of the Colton Malone series The tale begins when ME Clair Washington comes to work after a hectic night for the morgue. As Clair pulls out a drawer to take out a corpse to autopsy, she hears a strange sound coming from the cooler. Investigating the noise, Claire finds one of her dead bodies is very much alive, she suffers from a rare disease which makes it impossible for medics to decipher if the person is indeed alive or dead. I have always been convinced that Alex Cross series is the best of James Patterson’s numerous creations—not the least because it is his own and not collaborated with anyone else—and Triple Cross, the thirtieth outing of the Psychologist crime-solver, reinforces my conviction yet again!

If you like a multitude of twists and turns this is the mystery for you! JP’s latest and I might even go as far as saying best thriller to date. Alex Cross has never been on the wrong side of the law-until now. Charged with gunning down followers of his nemesis Gary Soneji in cold blood, Cross is being turned into the poster child for trigger-happy cops who think the... Several apparently disparate story lines are carefully woven together by the author in this book, the key suspects constantly changing so that as soon as you think you've grasped who is guilty the evidence points to somebody else. The book is high action, fast paced and with short chapters it makes very easy reading. The main characters are likeable and definitely you'd want them on your side. Excellent writing that makes easy reading. The writer, Thomas Tull, calls the Family Man murders the perfect crime story. He believes the killer may never be caught. This time Cross is investigating a serial killer who kills entire families in their homes without leaving any evidence for the police to follow up on. At the same time Cross's wife Bree had been commissioned to carry out her own investigation into business of a top fashion designer which opens up a whole can of worms. As you’d expect from this prolific author, there’s twists and turns with characters you care for, Another excellent read. It’s hard to believe that this is the 30th Alex Cross book, and it feels as fresh as ever. It’s like taking up with an old friend, comfortable, enjoyable and you know you’re going to have a good time. Alex’s family has grown with him, and his children have definite characters of their own, and I love Nana Mama, although I do wonder how much longer she will be able to appear in each new book in the series. A really good read, with great plotting, pacing and writing. Another 5 star read. but also investigating all the murders is a well known author of true crimes and who is writing about these murders who he has named the the family man

Now, in 2022, the 30th book in the series – “Triple Cross” – has been published, and I have completed my coveted reading visit with Detective Cross. It's up to Cross to determine whether the writer's theories are fact or fiction - before another family falls victim. And the ending, I promised no spoilers but I have to say that excited me, and made me all the more excited for the next book. Job well done on #30, bring on #31... There’s a link between the two cases which helps them solve them but a revelation at the end blows everything else into the water.Second in the military crime series featuring Special Agents Scott Brodie and Magnolia "Maggie" Taylor, after The Deserter (2019). Cross knows there is no perfect crime. And he’s going to hunt down the Family Man no matter what it takes.
