They'd talked for two hours last week just about the new TV set up Colby and Ezra had in their apartment. Trevor was no technician, but as soon as his family needed anything electronic done, he magically became one. Two hours later and Ezra had the TV set up with surround sound. favourite moments: the fact that the first dialogue in chapter one is colby asking finley if he would be top in a gay relationship (and the fact that this is the only thing he cares about despite being sent an anonymous picture). Was this a prank call? He debated hanging up, but Ezra probably wouldn't like that. Unless, Ezra had told him to do it. Working mostly as well." That was true, but if he were to honestly say what —rather, who— had been taking up so much of his time recently, he wasn't sure how well that would be accepted. It was so stupid to even think about. A man like Steven infatuated, not just with a man, but a man ten years his younger as well. A hypocrite and a cradle snatcher, that's what he would be. So, he kept it quiet for now. "I suppose that's it."

It might be the flu." She stressed. "For all we know it could be a sign of a terminal illness and I'll die without seeing my grandkids." You're a terrible liar." His hands went to Ezra's shoulders and he began to massage them. "It's fine. You'll be fine. I can still come if you want?" The phone was silent for a moment. A spam call perhaps? Then a voice came through. "Oh, hello. Um, Colby Williams replying. Over."

Reviews

He glanced at Colby from the corner of his eye. Colby was fiddling with his tie. Adjusting and readjusting it. He looked very smart in his suit and tie. Ezra was glad that Colby hadn't asked too many questions about why they were suddenly having a very formal dinner with his parents. Too formal, too informal, well put together, a complete mess. If he knew the venue, he would have a better chance of gauging what people, wanted from him, what they expected. Unless this was a ploy of some sort to humiliate him then... then it wouldn't be completely undeserved. Ezra left his apartment that he shared with Colby. The restaurant he was meeting his dad in was within walking distance of the apartment. He walked down the street with a faux confidence in his best shoes. Polished so much it was blinding. Ezra had polished them over and over again until Colby had to ask him to stop. Overall, I kinda loved it despite myself? I feel like Mr. Darcy because on most counts I shouldn't have even finished it, but it was just so pure and sweet and HILARIOUS.

I know what that means." Said Ezra. He'd heard that phrase damn enough times by now. "Don't say you don't know English. Let me pay for you." Yeah. My boss handles it like a champ though, you'd never know it got to him because he's always so cheery all the time. He likes to call himself my work dad and I guess in a way he is, except that he is basically just a big kid." Ezra is super serious about life and grades and football and has a lot of trauma by being forced into the closest by his asshole dad, but he is such a loving guy and is so so cute with Colby.

This is the point in his life where it would've been nice to have witnessed a good marriage growing up. What was he supposed to do? What was he supposed to act like? Was he doing any of this right? Sophie is miss religious trauma who went to a gay conversion camp over the summer because her pastor father found out she was lesbian and now feels like she needs to evangelize to her gay friends and is a super big jerk. But like, sweetheart Colby doesn't give up on her and you see how scared she is and... This book isn't about her, but maybe it should be? Cause that's SUCH a story, and one that's I'd love to read!

Okay so firstly, you should know this book has smut. A lot of it. Out of the scenes I actually cared to read rather than try to find the thin plot of this plot what plot book, there was maybe one smut scene that actually felt more appropriate for the YA characters being treated with new adult tropes. Hence my tagging it New Adult. Ezra shook his head, trying his hardest to relax into Colby's touch. "No, I want to see him myself first and then depending on how he acts, I'll let him see you." You look tired." Stavros told him in that usual cutting honesty. "Did you get up to anything last night? chapter twenty two when colby's dad walks in on them and colby says they're doing some very heterosexual, very friendly wrestling but they got hot so he had to take his clothes off.

His mom was all in. She loved the plan. It was more than she had done to get Colby's dad to marry her. But, Colby didn't have the option of having an accidental pregnancy because Ezra forgot to wrap it before he tapped it. He would if he could, but alas, they both had penises. Yeah. I mean, when it's good it's really good. I love helping people, so it always feels like I'm actually doing something good. When it's bad it's really bad though. A patient didn't make it the other day which was deeply upsetting." Grandchildren!" Steven gasped. His face paled and he looked over at Ezra. "I though you didn't... am I... do you...?" Ezra laughed. Should he bring Colby with him. He was always relaxed when Colby was with him. Although, he was sure that Colby and his dad in the same room would only stress him out more. Even now, he thought of the surprise visit of Colby one night in high school. The way his dad had tried to interrogate Colby and the way Colby — well, Colby just came for the food. Funny in hindsight, stressful in the moment. A stress he did not wish to recreate. Not just yet anyway. I- um," he cleared his throat, how unlike him to stutter, "I do what anyone does. I eat, I watch TV-"

Nothing else." Dr Rodriguez prodded. It was her job to ask questions and yet her kind eyes seemed all the more judgemental. As if she knew that Steven was lying. "What do you do when you're not working?" Colby Williams? Colby? Oh... that Colby. Why did he say over? It wasn't as if they were using radios to speak to each other. "Hello, Colby." Colby was weird. Maybe he'd changed since they'd last met, but the phone call wasn't making Steven believe that. His tie was off centre. A slight tilt to the left... and now it was far too left. He fiddled with it over and over, never quite getting it right. It was always off. Never perfect. Even when he thought he was one slight adjustment off perfection, it always slipped from his reach. All his own fault as well. chapter six when colby tells ezra to take him home and they hold hands (and the comment where someone said imagine if they heard his zipper go up cause it made me laugh). What? Why?" Don't tell him that Colby had figured out what was happening tonight. Technically, it wasn't that hard to figure out, but still. Ezra had hoped for a fun surprise for Colby. Colby is the most airbrained of himbos but has the biggest heart and is like the best golden retriever boy you can imagine. Yeah." Colby smiled at his mom. "We're still thinking about it and we might... we might not." He reached forward for another potato chip, shoving several into his mouth.
