Kirby's life is turned upside down after a terrible storm hits his hometown, leaving his mum fighting for her life. This story reads like the bedtime tale you wish your dad had told you when you were a kid, spinning it out over many weeks while you fought sleep as valiantly as you were able, always wanting to hear just a little bit more. Trying to be realistic for lots of my readers/friends here on GR, I don't think many of you would go out of your way to read it without a younger loved one to share it with; but I think you could have an opportunity to do that since many children younger than the recommended age of 8 would enjoy having this book read to them before they could read it to themselves. If you have a child who likes fantasy and adventure and can deal with a PG level of scariness, then this book would likely be a home run. Reading it by myself, I genuinely enjoyed it but was always aware it was rather more for kids than for me. Mysterious, intriguing and exciting, we read this book on the edge of our seat. The dazzling Emporium has many secrets down its many corridors, its unique characters were a mixture of real emotion and magic, the unpredictable plot made us want to read more. We truly recommend this book to any reader who likes fantasy, emotion and magic. Questo libro è un mix di queste idee, sembra proprio che pezzi di queste storie siano stati staccati, rimodellati appena un po', e fusi insieme in questo nuovo libro.

Here are a set of questions based on the prologue for the Nowhere Emporium. They are all based on the reading domain Questions- 2d explain how the author selects words and phrases to enhance meaning. My favourite character would be Ellie because she cares, she isn’t afraid to speak and she doesn’t take things for granted. The book made me laugh at some parts and I was always so eager to read the next chapter after finishing one. It's a story with all the classic elements of a good story: Mystery, magic, friendship and a nasty villain. A hugely imaginatibe story with wonderfully descriptive language. We follow the main character as he learns about his own abilities not only to create magical wonders but also how to form lasting meaningful relationships. That said, it left me wanting in a few areas. Number one, I hate to compare it to Morrigan Crow, but in that book you feel like you could walk away from the story and have just as much fun exploring the city of Nevermoor. You don't get that sense in “The Nowhere Emporium”.Fantastic resource, my class have already produced some great work and are highly engaged. The book itself is an absolute must read and this unit is outstanding!

But when Mr Silver disappears, and a shadow from the past threatens everything, the Emporium and all its wonders begin to crumble. In present-day Glasgow, 11-year-old Mirren is dismayed to learn that her mother is being held captive inside the Emporium. When Mirren, her best friend Lukasz and their nemesis Robyn are summoned to the mysterious shop in the dead of night, they enter with trepidation. The children need to work together to rescue Mirren’s mum and defeat the evil magician who is infecting everything with his sinister magic. Meanwhile, they must keep one step ahead of the inky Nightmares, viscous monsters with terrifyingly sharp teeth, which chase them through the labyrinth of rooms. The Nowhere Emporium is an enchanted shop which appears at will in any time or place. The proprietor, Daniel Holmes, uses his imagination to create wondrous spaces in the Emporium’s vast interior. Whatever he writes in the enchanted Book of Wonders appears as a room inside the shop, ready to be enjoyed by visiting customers, who will instantly forget about it as soon as they leave. However, a dark force is seeping through the Emporium and Daniel has disappeared. This is a fun read, and I would recommend it for kids and adults alike. It pulls you along and never slows down. Education Shed Ltd, Severn House, Severn Bridge, Riverside North, Bewdley, Worcestershire, UK, DY12 1AB I give this book 5/5 stars and recommend it for people who like fantasy and all ages can enjoy this wonderful book series.
