I've recommended this book to all my friends and family and I would absolutely recommend anybody read this. A nice read if you haven’t listened to the podcast before, and want to a reminder about how to be your best. It would be a great for a person who is really sport minded and into sports personalities, but unfortunately I am not that person. In the first short sitting my mum asked how many copies I'd bought, as everyone needs one as their guide on how to live life. What should be improved: there should be a summary chapter at the end collating all of the high performance categories and we can apply them to our own life.

Jake joined BT Sport at the start of the 2013/2014 season as the face of BT Sports Premier League coverage. Having struggled for motivation and focus in both my personal and professional life it provided me with the message I needed to drive forward and achieve. In 2020 Jake began recording The High Performance Podcast, offering an intimate glimpse into the lives of high-achieving, successful individuals. It's full of valuable principles and approaches shared by teams and athletes across professional sports, with real-world relevance to people's everyday lives. Feels like a lot of recycled content from their podcasts though so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who already listens to the podcasts. Thoughtful and considered, this is a careful summary of the excellent High Performance Podcast but it also goes beyond that to dig into the roots and uncover multiple little gems that anyone can take into any walk of life. This is a must read for anyone, be it someone who is into sport and fitness, what’s to become a actor or actress, a business owner or entrepreneur, a teacher or someone who just wants to be a better parent.

All things you’d have covered in an undergrad business degree, but perhaps could have lost sight of in the real world. Full of valuable principles with real-world relevance to people's everyday lives' Toto Wolff'So many different lessons from so many remarkable people' Adam Peaty Drawing on conversations with.Jake Humphrey has spent decades interviewing the world’s greatest sportspeople, seeking to understand first-hand what drives their success. I've worked in many organisations and it was fascinating to compare the different cultures I've worked under and as a future leader I took away some key nuggets from Tracey Neville, Rio Ferdinand and others about how winning cultures and team ethos are built. After a period of serious incidents and service review I read this book to get myself back on track. Jake and I met in F1, and he has always had a perspective that looked beyond the blinkers of motor-racing.
