Make sure you print out the TSA’s drone battery regulations. It’s not unheard of to come across a few agents who are not aware of their own rules and regulations. It will help reduce arguments. Continued red flashing by the battery after connecting to the charger means that the charger is not providing power to the battery. It’s a big difference, too, so it’s worth trying out in a large open space, only after you’re a little more comfortable handling the drone. The Bebop 2 Power is seriously nippy when it wants to be and it makes the FPV mode even more exhilarating.

The drone has a standard quadcopter design and is surprisingly light at just 550g. That’s owing to some of the build materials, which consist of lightweight plastic and a polystyrene-like material towards the front. Compared to a drone such as the DJI Spark, the Bebop 2 Power doesn’t feel as robust, with the model showing some flex in parts on the exertion of some force. Whilst you do not get 4K video the 30FPS video quality is excellent and compared to other drones in this price range the shakiness was minimal. With the Bebop 2 Power you have to either use the app, which means slightly slow transfers over Wi-Fi direct, or connecting the drone to a computer over micro-USB. Do not continue using the battery if it’s visibly damaged in any way. This could include swelling or leaking.

You have just had some fun flying your drone, but when you plug in the battery to charge, for no reason they won’t seem to charge. Bebop 2 batteries are Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries. This means that the batteries need to be handled and stored with care to maximize their lifetime. This was able to maintain a strong connection to the quadcopter over much longer distances: we tested it to several hundred feet, and Parrot claims it can manage up to about 3.5 miles (6 kilometers). If you are planning on flying at long distances (or in areas that are crowded with Wi-Fi signals), the Skycontroller would be a useful addition. Casual fliers won’t need it, though. Flying This adapter has been manufactured with high quality components. It conforms with the exact specification of the original manufacturer and the Charger is guaranteed against all manufacturing defects. Just like its forerunner, this drone is easy to control and handles well when in the air. Responsiveness is good and the unit is stable enough to operate in relatively blustery conditions – something we were surprised at, considering how light it feels in the hand. In the standard mode it's quite slow – especially when making turns – but Parrot has included a Sports Mode in this year's model which gives it a top speed of around 40 miles per hour. Novices may wish to avoid enabling this feature until they're comfortable with the controls, as the unit is harder to control at high speeds. Performance and battery life

Only use the official charger of the drone company to charge your drone battery. Different chargers charge at different voltages, hence a generic or alternate brand could damage your battery. After about two minutes of charging, your battery should recover to about 3.3 volts per cell. To confirm this, divide the total voltage of your battery by the number of cells.

An evolution rather than a revolution, the Bebop 2 Power remains a solid choice for drone newcomers and veterans alike, just like its forerunner. The FAA flight rules also say that you should store your batteries safely to prevent them from being damaged. The best way is to store the batteries in a fireproof drone travel case or a camera bag; you can also keep them in the battery sleeve.
